Lee Ann Mapother Worked for Her Brother Tom Cruise in the Early 2000s

Lee Ann Mapother’s professional relationship with her brother Tom Cruise was short-lived. After working together for almost two years, Cruise dropped his sister from handling his public relations affairs.

Even though Mapother’s brother dropped her as his publicist, he gave her another role of handling his charity works. Mapother’s brother’s decision came after he constantly made headlines about different issues, including his passionate belief in Scientology and when he was romantically involved with actress Katie Holmes.

During that time, Mapother’s brother also suffered public embarrassment when someone splashed water in his face during the premiere of “War of the Worlds.”

Lee Ann Mapother Had a Nomadic Childhood

Mapother was born on July,24,1959, and is the daughter of Mary Lee Pfeiffer and Thomas Mapother III. Her childhood was nomadic, and she had no chance to make friends.

Mapother’s father was rarely present in her life; her brother said their father wasn’t supportive, whether spiritually or financially. Her father was an electrical engineer, while her mother was a special–education teacher.

Mapother’s brother said that he spent most of his childhood always on the move, and when he turned 14, he had been enrolled in 15 different schools.

Growing up, Mapother’s brother was always protective of her, and whenever someone tried to tease her, he would quickly come to her defense and make her feel better. He would also get into different characters to entertain his mother and sisters.

Lee Ann Was Fired from Her Brother’s Publicist Position

When Mapother worked as her brother’s PR manager, she was also the publicist of her then brother’s wife, Katie Holmes. After Mapother’s brother fired her from the PR role, he gave her the responsibility of handling his charitable work.

Even though Mapother isn’t into acting, she was on the set of the 2002 sci-fi/action movie “Minority Report.” Her brother had a starring role in the film, and she was part of the additional crew as his assistant.

In recent years, nothing is known about Mapother’s relationship with Tom Cruise, but in 2004 Cruise attended her daughter’s graduation from the Delphian School.

Mapother’s brother, who is passionate about Scientology, was on record giving an inspirational speech about Hubbard’s study technology. Mapother also followed in her brother’s footsteps and became interested in Scientology.

What Is Known about Lee Ann Mapother’s Life Now?

Lee Ann leads a very private life. Her Facebook page has no pictures or publications and hasn’t appeared in public for a long time. In 2016, on mother’s day, her sister and mother were spotted on a family boat trip, but Mapother was absent.

The last time Mapother appeared publicly was when she and her siblings attended their mother’s funeral in 2017. According to reports, Mapother’s mother passed on peacefully in her sleep after battling health issues for some time. The memorial service was held at the Church of Scientology.

In 2016, Tom Cruise purchased an exclusive apartment a few miles from Scientology’s global headquarters. According to locals, as of 2021, he had turned it into a fort. Based on reports, Mapother’s brother allegedly had over 100 cameras around the entire building.

As reported by The Sun, Lee Ann Mapother and her sisters had moved into the building and occupied the third, fourth, and fifth floors. In recent years, she also changed her name to Lee Anne De Vette and now has a different last name, Lee Anne Gillotte.
