Rhett and Link rose to prominence through their shows on YouTube. These include “Good Mythical Morning,” “Acquisition of Smosh,” and “Ear Biscuits Mythical Kitchen,” among several others. A big part of their lives is lived on social media.

However, Link’s wife, Christy, keeps herself away from her husband’s profession. She is a stay-at-home mom who homeschools her kids. The couple shares three children, one girl and two boys. In 2016, Christy suffered a horrible accident that left her with a severe brain injury.

Link and Christy Went through Premarital Counseling before Getting Married

Link and Rhett discussed their marriages during an episode of “Ear Biscuits” titled “A Look Into Our Marriages.” While focusing on growing up together after getting married young, Link said he and Christy had their wedding when he was 21 and 22 when they went on their honeymoon.

In that 2020 segment, Link revealed they had been married for 20 years. He went on to talk about the process before they eventually decided to exchange vows. While talking about the commitment component of marriage, Link said:

“When I was trying to figure out if I was gonna propose to Christy, if we were meant to be together, I was doing lots of math. I was doing lots of analysis. And even when we got engaged, we went to premarital counseling.”

The comedian added that he highly recommends going through a similar process, which can raise flags that lead to more informed decisions. For example, people can turn back before things get more serious and more time is wasted.

During the premarital counseling, Christy and Link went through a practical workbook from a Christian worldview of marriage. Among other things, it guided them in their discussions about various topics, including significant issues like their expectations for sex and money and minor things like habits and points of conflict.

The counseling also led to them putting their combined life plan in points, thereby getting a better understanding of a shared future. That also enables couples to see the compatibility of their goals. From that, the counselor can give a detailed assessment about whether they suit each other.

Link referred to this essential path as premarital certification, where a third party gets access to your thoughts and gives a more rationalized decision on the couple’s behalf. He added that he would suggest it to his children when considering life partners.

Link Often Shares Heartwarming Posts about His Wife, Christy

Link, who has appeared on shows hosted by presenters Conan O’Brien and Carson Daly, is never too shy to speak highly of his gorgeous wife in discussions on his shows or social media. In May 2019, he dedicated a sweet Instagram post to Christy with the message:

“Happy birthday, baby. You are resilient, beautiful, hilarious, empathetic, fierce, intuitive, inspiring, comforting, green-thumbed, and so much more all perfectly soft-scrambled with cheese. I love you so much.”

Links continued to praise his wife, calling her “a life-giver” in December 2022. Around Valentine’s Day this year, Link shared a photo of the two sharing an intimate kiss on a beautiful beach while the sun set in the background, making it a picture-perfect moment. He captioned it, “We are perfect for us. I (heart emoji) my Christy.”

Christy Lives with a Brain Injury

In April 2019, Christy appeared on the “Ask Science Mike” podcast and talked about her life with a brain injury. She pointed out that although she was nervous about going into that discussion publicly, she was encouraged by the thought that her disclosure could help some people handle the situation better.

Initially, Christy talked about life before the injury, revealing that she was a homeschooling mom with three children and was in year ten when she had the accident. Additionally, she was good at multitasking and very efficient at making decisions. She was a very busy person and the CEO of her house.

However, she admitted that she struggled with anxiety and depression and took medicine. She underwent therapy sessions since giving birth to her first child, who had turned 16 two weeks before the interview. Living with those conditions before her accident meant she was familiar with what that looked like and how to get help.

Christy’s life turned on its head in August 2016 when she exited her favorite grocery store, Trader Joe’s, with her hands full. In the parking lot, they had medians with trees every couple of feet. The trees were covered with leaves, and one had a branch hanging very low, which she did not see.

Christy stepped up into the branch with her full force, and the part of it that had an elbow-like shape hit the center of her head. Although she didn’t know what happened, she didn’t get concussed and was still aware of her surroundings. She quickly got up, got into her van, and drove home with her head hurting.

She didn’t feel anything serious had happened immediately after the incident and went through the rest of the day as usual. Twenty-four hours later, Christy was driving her kids back from tutoring when overwhelming nausea hit her. A headache followed along with vertigo.

After getting her children home, she drove to the ER, where they told her she would feel better in two weeks. However, she visited a neurologist after three or four days without any change. Soon, Christy began struggling with sleep as her brain was not turning off, and her anxiety was off the charts from her post-concussion syndrome.

Christy and Link Are Parents to 3 Children

Link and Christy share three children, and the family resides in Los Angeles. She enjoys “entertaining, organizing, gardening, long walks with friends, and all things pizza-related.”

Christy doesn’t open up much about her personal life to the public, and her Instagram is private. However, her husband, the celebrity in the family, doesn’t follow his wife’s example and keeps fans updated about some of the family’s activities.

It seems the couple’s oldest child is their daughter Lily Neal, followed by two boys whose names are unavailable. Link and his children engage in many activities together.

In July 2019, his daughter accompanied him to VidCon, where they first went together when she was seven. In January 2020, Link and his kids went skiing at Mammoth Mountain, and in September, he, his cousin Britton Buchanan and Lily made a playlist of movie scores they enjoyed the most.
