A major A-road in York has been shut on Tuesday afternoon following a vehicle fire.
North Yorkshire Police have shut A19 Shipton Road Northbound on Tuesday (January 16) afternoon following a vehicle fire. The southbound carriageway was also shut due to the fire, however has now been reopened.
The A19 has been shut from the A1237 to the Greene King Pub. It is unclear when the road will be reopened at this time or if there has been any injuries.

Our travel partner, Inrix, said: “A19 Shipton Road Northbound blocked, heavy traffic due to vehicle fire from the A1237 to the Greene King Pub. Ongoing since around 13:55. The southbound direction has reopened.”
