The A64 in West Yorkshire is closed in both directions between the A1(M) J44 and the A162 (Tadcaster) due to a lorry fire, police have confirmed.

Emergency services are in attendance and more information, including diversion routes, will follow shortly,

Our travel partner, INRIX, reported: “A64 in both directions closed due to vehicle fire from A1(M) J44 York / Tadcaster (Bramham) to A162 (Tadcaster).”

The lorry fire is on the major road which connects Leeds to York via Tadcaster and drivers are being warned to avoid the area if possible.
