Lou Jr was only a pre-teen when he decided he wanted to work out and be strong like his dad. During an interview with Men’s Health Magazine in June last year, the actor explained why he wanted “big pecs,” saying:

“I saw a guy in a Ren & Stimpy cartoon who had these big pecs. Girls on the beach loved the pecs. So when I was 11 or 12, I said, ‘Dad, I want to work out. I want pecs.'”

And so Lou Ferrigno became his first training partner. It was around that age when Lou Jr initially struggled with his weight. But after training with his dad and going on a strict diet at 19, his physique improved.
