Lucinda Southworth, Larry Page’s wife, proved he’s not the only one in the relationship to be known for their intelligence. The model obtained three degrees from highly acclaimed universities and hoped to use her medical degree to “better the world.”

After meeting over a decade ago, Larry and Lucinda have remained a private couple since he blew up after co-founding Google. True to their reputation for flying under the radar, the couple celebrated their wedding with a very low-key ceremony on an island in the Caribbean.

According to wedding and event planners, Lucinda and her husband splurged millions on their big day, which included hundreds of guests. And while they spent, they also gave back through their eco-friendly home that protects the planet and investing in startups, including her sister’s.

Lucinda Southworth Received a Good Education

By the time she was 27, Lucinda was studying biomedical informatics at Stanford University. To further her medical studies, she worked in South Africa to “better the world.” She has also previously obtained degrees from Oxford and the University of Pennsylvania.

Inside Lucinda and Larry’s Relationship

Larry and Lucinda are seven years apart in age, and their relationship began in the mid-2000s. They dated for over a year before tying the knot in 2007. On December 8, their 600 guests watched them say “I do” on a privately owned island by Richard Branson, who also served as the best man.

Events planner Preston Bailey, who had worked with former president Donald Trump, explained that having private ceremonies on islands was a trend among the rich and famous. He said:

“It gives them much more security and privacy that is needed in these types of grand affairs.”

A celebrity wedding planner, Sasha Souza, said booking an island ranges from $1 to $2 million weekly. Plus, about $1.5 million for first-class tickets for guests. “You’re creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Sasha said, adding that if you have billions, you don’t mind spending a few million.

Lucinda and Larry share two children, one born in 2009 and another in 2011. In 2021, Lucinda’s family made headlines after her son was granted entry into New Zealand for medical attention, despite the country’s closed borders due to the spread of Covid-19.

New Zealand’s health minister, Andrew Little, said “all of the normal steps occurred” but was criticized for allowing Lucinda and Larry’s son entry and not other stranded New Zealanders.

Lucinda Southworth’s Wealthy Life

In 2011, Larry bought a 193-foot boat for $45 million from Sir Douglas Meyer, a successful businessman from New Zealand. The boat came with a gym, a helipad, and ten bedrooms. Larry and Lucinda also own a $7 million “eco-mansion.”

The environment-friendly home in Palo Alto featured rooftop gardens and solar panels. In another attempt to protect the planet, Larry and Lucinda chose to have fake palm trees at their wedding as opposed to flying the indigenous planet life to their island ceremony.

In 2015, one of their Palo Alto homes reportedly burned down. Firefighters reported to the scene after someone noticed smoke coming from the home. The fire department eventually put out the “large fire,” and a neighbor said the house, used as an office, either belonged to Google or Larry.

Lucinda’s Older Sister Is an Actress

Lucinda’s sister, Carrie, has a career as an actress, with well-known roles in TV shows such as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “General Hospital: Night Shift.” She is also the force behind Twigtale, a startup that creates personalized children’s books to help them through transitions. While talking about Twigtale, Carrie said:

“We’re not here at Twigtale to tell you how to be a parent; we’re just giving you some guidelines.”

Larry showed his support for his sister-in-law’s project and became an investor. Carrie is also married and has been since 2005 to Collister “Coddy” Johnson III, the son of Collister “Terry” Johnson, Jr. and Godson of former president George W. Bush.
