There are huge delays of 75 minutes on the M18 this morning following a crash. The accident has happened southbound near Doncaster.

National Highways Yorkshire confirmed shortly before 7.50am that the southbound carriageway had been shut following an accident. It said there were almost six miles of congestion and huge delays.

The carriageway has since reopened but massive delays of 75 minutes remain between Junction 3 for Doncaster and Junction 2 (A1M).

Confirming the earlier closure on X, National Highways Yorkshire said: “The #M18 southbound between J3 ( #Doncaster ) and J2 ( #A1M ), lane 2 (of 2) is closed due to a collision.

“There is currently approx. 5.5 miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 60 minutes above usual journey times.”
