Man’s Girlfriend Demands to Kick His Older Child’s Mom Out of Hospital Room for Slamming Their Newborn’s Name

A woman who had been happily co-parenting her daughter with her baby daddy was shocked after finding out the man and his long-term girlfriend had named their newborn baby the same as her daughter. A woman recently took to Reddit to get a load off her mind. The original poster (OP) opened up about her relationship with her baby daddy and his girlfriend and how things took a different turn when her kid’s father and his girlfriend welcomed their newborn, a baby girl.

Initially, the three of them had a great relationship but when the man’s girlfriend crossed the line when she named her newborn the exact same name as the OP’s daughter. What frustrated the woman more was that the man couldn’t even stand up for his daughter.

The OP and the man welcomed their daughter when she was in her mid-20s, and they decided to keep the baby and co-parent while remaining friends. The two happily co-parented their daughter even when the man got into a serious relationship with another woman, who fell pregnant for the man; the OP supported them without crossing any lines.

She went a step further by encouraging her daughter to assist whenever she stayed with them and volunteered to babysit if they wished to have some private time, as she genuinely wanted the children to develop a strong sibling bond despite having different mothers.

Everything was fine; they all had a great relationship, and the OP was excited for her daughter to have a sibling as she always wanted one and the OP didn’t have plans of having another child.

When the man and his girlfriend finally welcomed their baby, they asked her to take her daughter to the hospital to meet her baby sister. After they got to the hospital, the OP was taken aback after the man and his girlfriend introduced them to their newborn.

They had named their newborn with the same names as her daughter. It was a tense situation as the man seemed uncomfortable and couldn’t look at the OP directly. On the other hand, the man’s girlfriend didn’t seem to see if she had done anything wrong.

The naming choice didn’t sit well with the woman, and she tried to seek answers as to why they settled for that name. The man’s girlfriend explained that she chose the baby’s name because she liked it after the woman asked if the baby was named after her daughter.

While still trying to get answers, the woman asked if the man and his girlfriend planned to use a nickname or a middle name when addressing the baby, and the woman responded that she didn’t see the need for that. The man’s girlfriend immediately started calling the woman names, telling her she was insensitive for talking to her like that after she had just given birth. She then asked the hospital nurses to kick her out of her room for being disruptive.

While the OP acknowledged that the man and his girlfriend could give their baby any name of their choice, she stressed that her daughter’s name was off limits, and if they liked it, they could have adjusted it.
