The Couple Had Four Different Weddings Being Planned

Davies and Murray tied the knot in September 2020 in front of their family and friends at the Lake House Inn in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Some of the guests in attendance included “Impractical Jokers” cast members Brian Quinn, Sal Vulcano, and Joe Gatto, who was the best man and also officiated the ceremony.

While their big day turned out perfect, planning their wedding wasn’t as smooth as it looked, especially amid the COVID-19 restrictions. Murray said they had four different wedding lists and plans while preparing for their big day. One of them was to have their bridal party in their backyard if they ran out of options.

Due to how things were tense amid the pandemic, the couple ended up settling for a compromised list with a quarter of the things they had listed in their original list.

Even though it’s not how the couple envisioned their big day, Murray said they were happy that their family was in good health and felt blessed to celebrate their ceremony with them during that period.

On the other hand, his wife, Melyssa Davies, said they had just moved in before the pandemic, so staying together helped them plan thoroughly and decide what they wanted.

Their Proposal Was Sweet

Murray proposed to Melyssa in August 2019 in a sweet romantic setup. The comedian went down on his knees and asked Mlyssa to be his wife outside the home they had just bought together in New Jersey. Even though it wasn’t his initial plan, he just went with the flow, and it turned out amazing.

He explained he did a picnic set up outside their home, then added a scrabble board game and champagne. After everything was set, he took Melyssa Davies there and told her she needed to sign the house documents before popping up the question, and of course, she said yes.

Even though Murray’s first marriage was a stunt, his second one is more serious, and he is a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Melyssa Davies.

While the proposal turned out perfect, that wasn’t Murray’s original plan. He stated he had planned to propose to Davies while they were on vacation in the Turks and Caicos Islands. But he had to cancel the trips and devise another plan after Hurricane Dorian landed in the Bahamas before their trip.

It seems like Turks and Caicos is a special place for the couple and holds great memories. The “Impractical Jokers” star said they traveled there for their first vacation, and that’s where he confessed his love for Davies. So he had planned to take her to the same spot and propose to her while playing scrabble.

Davies and Murray’s relationship is one of a kind. Davies enjoys the connection she and her husband have built; when she’s around him, she gets to be herself. The first time the couple traveled to the island together, they hit it off that night.

Davies said they had an instant connection, and her relationship with Murray differed from those she had before with other people. The comedian proposed with an exquisite, queenly diamond ring perfect for Davies.

Murray, who was going for a simple yet classy and elegant engagement ring, said the moment he saw it, he knew that was what he wanted. It seems it was the best choice, as Davies admitted that she couldn’t stop staring at the ring.

James Murray Had Been Married Before

Most “Impractical Jokers” fans understand what it takes for the show to be fun and engaging. The show, which contains a rule of different challenges, sees four friends challenge each other with embarrassing and outrageous dares.

If any fails to complete the task or he loses, they must endure the punishment no matter how embarrassing it is. The show, rated 8.6/10 on IMDb, has seen many of the cast members do some pretty weird and crazy things.

For instance, in 2014, Murray exchanged vows with his co-star Sal Vulcano’s sister during the show’s season three finale just to punish Vulcano. Though he legally married Jenna Vulcano, the marriage wasn’t serious, and the two annulled it shortly after.

Even though Murray’s first marriage was a stunt, his second one is more serious, and he is a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Melyssa Davies. Murray cherishes his connection with Davies; he said their relationship is the best thing he has ever had.

While some famous people prefer keeping their love life private, Murray is among celebrities who don’t shy away from showing the public who their partner is. Other comedians in solid relationships with their spouses include Kevin Hart and Steve Harvey.
