A yellow weather warning for wind has been put in place across parts of Yorkshire as the Met Office warns of disruption.
The Met Office has warned of gusts of between 45 and 50 mph across the warning area while some parts of the coasts along the Irish Sea could sea wind of 60-70 mph. The warning has been put in place from 9am on Saturday, December 9, until 11.45pm on the same day.
There will likely be delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport and bus and train services are likely to be affected, with journeys taking longer. According to the Met Office, there is a chance of power cuts and coast communities may be affected by spray and large waves.

They have also warned of the danger for high-sided vehicles, such as trucks, posed by the wind in open areas and on bridges.
The Met Office warning covers all of South Yorkshire, including Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley. All of West Yorkshire will also be impacted, including Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield.

Only some parts of North Yorkshire are within the warning area. This includes Skipton and Selby. Hull is also in the warning area.
The Met Office said: “Winds will increase in the west during Saturday morning then across other areas through the afternoon.
“Gusts of 45 to 55 mph are likely quite widely, with 60-70 mph possible along Irish Sea coasts. Winds then easing slowly from the west through the evening.”
