Mom Changes Will after Learning Her Son Cheated On His Wife: ‘She Wants to Reward Those Who Deserve It’

A woman named Amelie found out her husband cheated and impregnated his co-worker, Bethany. She watched her ex-husband start a new life with her, but her mother-in-law was on her side and was willing to make her son and his mistress pay for tearing their family apart.

A 26-year-old woman named Amelie shared the heartbreaking story of how her family was torn apart due to her husband’s infidelity. She found out that her husband was having an affair with a woman named Bethany, who was also his co-worker.

Amelie was pregnant with their second child at the time of the affair, but she also discovered that Bethany was expecting a child. The situation took a toll on her, and she lost her baby while her husband’s mistress welcomed a son.

Eventually, the 29-year-old left his wife to live with Bethany, and Amelie has watched her son grow up without his father for two years. Luckily her mother-in-law and her parents have been a great support system for her and her child.

Amelie shares a strong bond with her ex-husband’s family, so much so that her mother-in-law completely cut her son off because of what he did.

Ironically, Bethany is not a fan of how much Amelie is favored and longs for her child to have a relationship with his grandparents.

However, while Bethany’s child does not have a connection with her partner’s parents, Amelie’s son has also been losing out on time with his father.

Unfortunately, Amelie’s mother-in-law started getting ill and decided that since she was angry at her son, who’s an only child, she’d change her will and not leave him and his affair child any inheritance. Amelie wrote:

“She wants to reward those who deserve it and get revenge in one go.”

Therefore, the mother-in-law decided to remove her son as the sole inheritor. “… Now, my son will inherit her house, villa, and money. I will receive a large portion of her money and all of her belongings. Until my son turns 18, it will be in my trust,” explained Amelie.

When Amelie shared the story on Reddit, she revealed that only she knew about the changes in her mother-in-law’s will and was told not to say anything. The son still believed that he would be the one inheriting his mother’s assets.

Since his mother has been bedridden, Amelie said her ex-husband pleaded for forgiveness, and his partner was much nicer and polite to her and her mother-in-law.

In the past, Bethany was said to have been extremely cruel to her partner’s mother. But her falling sick has given them a look into a future where they inherit everything, and her son is recognized as a grandchild.

Bethany also started planning on renovating the mother-in-law’s house. She was more excited to take down all of Amelie’s son’s pictures. But little did she not know that it would be Amelie’s son’s home, and no changes would be made to the house until he was 18.

Amelie explained that her mother-in-law hated her son and Bethany because her mother was also a victim of infidelity. She watched her father neglect her for the children he had from his affair. Therefore, to watch her son do the same was infuriating and hurtful.

After sharing the story, Amelie gave an update and responded to some of the negative comments she received. Firstly, she was shocked at how much recognition her story had attracted.

She addressed some commenters who were angry at her for not asking her mother-in-law to include her ex-husband’s son in the will. Amelie clarified that she had no say in how the money was distributed but admitted, “Yes, I’m happy, and that’s selfish, but I’m going to put myself and my son first.”

As much as she felt sorry for the child, she expressed that her mother-in-law connected the infidelity to her childhood trauma and wanted her grandson to know that he was loved despite his father’s actions.

Amelie added more to the story revealing some of the hurtful things Bethany did to her. She said she would send mean messages to her and her family.

For her baby shower, Bethany used Amelie’s miscarriage to hurt her. “She sent a letter full of the nastiest things about me, my son, and my miscarried baby,” revealed Amelie.

Therefore, it was better for her to ignore Bethany and her son. She did not even want their sons to grow up together because of the pain she put them through. But in the midst of all of this, Amelie hoped for her mother-in-law to get better.
