Mom Is Almost in Tears over Kids’ Tantrums – Kind Stranger Comes and Hands Her $100 and a Note

A mother who was having trouble getting her child to behave received help in the form of a complete stranger whose actions rekindled her faith in humanity and became the highlight of her day.

Parenthood is not always hugs and roses; it can be challenging, tiring, and frustrating for those new to it. Even parents who have been through the experience a couple of times before still get overwhelmed from time to time, especially when there’s a meltdown from one of the kids.

A meltdown can be tedious to deal with, and it is also something parents hope doesn’t happen in public. But unfortunately, it does, and even though it is embarrassing, it has its advantages.

An example of the advantage was witnessed in Devon Linden’s story. The devoted mother’s faith in humanity was restored after she ran into another woman who slipped her a note while telling her to keep her head up.

A TEDIOUS DAY

Devon Linden has two kids she takes to swimming practice every week; however, on this particular day, things were not going as smoothly as they were supposed to. She said:

“I was really honestly near tears just as a mom, trying to keep it together, and get my kids out of there.”

That swim practice was difficult, and juggling the care of her two kids was taking a massive toll on her. Still, she carried on until the end of the swim practice when one of her kids started throwing a tantrum as they made to leave.

It was a total meltdown, and Linden had been having a hard time handling it. In fact, Linden had been about to tear up when a polite good samaritan appeared out of the blue with a note and a verbal pick-me-up.

The act of kindness touched Linden. She was glad that in her moment of vulnerability, the stranger didn’t pass judgment on her, her children, or her parenting but just decided to bless her.

WHAT WAS IN THE NOTE

Linden did not check the note until she got to her vehicle, but she was pleasantly shocked when she did. Within the folds of the note were a $100 note and a few precious lines. It read:

“Your life and purpose is huge!! Life is so precious. Every day is a gift, so make it count. Enjoy!!”

The words tugged on her heartstrings and released the floodgates in Linden’s heart, making her shed the tears she had struggled to get under control a few minutes earlier. Linden was amazed by how a stranger had chosen to show such empathy towards her plight.

Unknowingly, the stranger had greatly influenced Linden with her kindness, leaving the mother-of-two with a desire to become that kind of person and mother in the future.

According to Linden, she is now paying more attention to making herself like the good samaritan while keeping her eyes peeled for what the new decade has to offer.

LINDEN HAS VOWED TO PASS ON THE LESSON

After her run-in with the stranger that day, Linden decided deep within herself that the lesson of kindness she had learned was one she would love to pass on to her two children. Linden said that she would teach her kids to give others grace in their moments of vulnerability, just as she had been given.

She has also decided to continue doling out acts of kindness and hopes the sentiments will quickly spread around Northwest Arkansas. As for the woman who blessed her and helped restore her faith in humanity, Linden will remain forever grateful.

In a statement, the proud mother thanked the stranger for not seeing her at her lowest and judging her but instead giving her precisely what she needed at that moment. That enabled her to spend the rest of her day feeling like a good mom and person.

Linden’s story proves that a little act of kindness can go a long way and that a good deed can inspire several other good deeds, some of which may even lead back to the start of the cycle.
