Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher have collaborated on many projects. Still, she always remembers to credit her husband when posting about their baby on social media after she gives the jewelry designer a shoutout.

Natasha Leggero Is Married – Get to Know Her Comedian Husband, Moshe Kasher

Kasher is a CODA, a child of deaf adults. Born on July 6, 1979, in Queens, New York, his mother is an atheist, and his dad a Hasidic Jew. He and his brother grew up between two coasts when their parents divorced, and they lived with their mom in Oakland, California.

He revealed that his family mainly survived on food stamps and government subsidies and had a split childhood between the different personalities of his parents. However, their home always had humor, but he found his love for comedy while in school.

After their parents divorced, the Kasher brothers spent their summers in the predominantly Jewish community of Sea Gate, New York, which added to the comedian’s trove of comedic material.

At 12, Kasher began experimenting with drugs and would be in and out of three rehabs, have a stint in prison, and be kicked out of four high schools by his sweet 16. In his 16th year, he managed to get sober and obtained his GED.

Kasher became certified as a sign-language interpreter and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a degree in religious studies.

Seeing Chelsea Peretti, a school friend, perform standup inspired him to abandon his plans of going into academia and begin doing his own sets at open mic nights in the Bay area.

He then made a move to Los Angeles, California, in 2008. He was a panelist on “Chelsea Lately” between 2010 and 2014 and wrote, produced, and starred in one season of “Problematic with Moshe Kasher.”

Leggero has used the platform to crowdsource issues in their relationship.

The UC Santa Barbara alum has also written and produced for “Betty,” “Little America,” and, of course, his special with his wife, “The Honeymoon Standup Special,” in 2018. As an actor, he’s been in “Zoolander 2,” “The Good Place,” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”

Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher Joke Extensively about Their Relationship

A former Roman Catholic, Leggero converted to Judaism before their October 11, 2015, traditional Orthodox wedding at their Silver Lake, LA home. Like Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz before them, Leggero and Kasher have created art together to spend more time together.

He once quipped that he has Leggero scream ‘executive producer’ when they make love to counter the “power imbalance” of him being in that role for “Another Period,” in which she stars. Kasher said:

“I need a constant reassurance that I’m valued and it wasn’t nepotism.”

Being a standup comedian on the road can be lonely, so it made sense for them to combine forces, as Kasher told The Los Angeles Times in 2022:

“We were tired of going on the road separately. Then we did a theater tour, and Netflix saw it, and they wanted to do a special. And then came the podcast. It all felt very organic.”

For their live show, which was turned into a Netflix comedy special in 2018, the pair each do a 30-minute set and then get together for a half-hour roast of couples and dispense relationship advice.

During the pandemic, when the standup gigs dried up, the couple had “The Endless Honeymoon Podcast,” a source of steady income and a creative outlet. In May 2023, they uploaded episode 212.

Where the advice is pure comedy in the live shows, their podcast takes the topic of relationships more seriously. Leggero has used the platform to crowdsource issues in their relationship. She said:

“Moshe’s a very, very good arguer, and arguing with him is exhausting. So I’m like, OK, I’m just going to bring it to the crowd. But that might be a little immature.”

Something Kasher took to their attentive audience resonated, is it normal for him to use his wife’s toothbrush? The “good arguer” contends that he was put in his place:

“It was such a clear answer from crowdsourcing it that I realized, like, in really stark terms, this isn’t cool, and I need to stop. Lesson learned.”

Unlike previous comedian boyfriends, Kasher has no qualms about his partner talking about him onstage, as long as it is funny. Leggero had also joked about the downside of being in a stable situation, “I felt like I was much funnier when I had, like, $30 in my account.”

Moshe Kasher and Natasha Leggero Have a Daughter They Are Not Afraid to Joke About

“I had a joke that having a baby is like having a DUI from the universe,” she reminisced ten months after giving birth to their daughter on February 24, 2018. No word yet if Natasha Leggero’s daughter and hubby will join her on “Stars on Mars.”

In a joint New York Times interview in 2016, Kasher jested that they will call their hypothetical baby Material. Since the birth of their daughter, the couple has not divulged her name and has not shared photos of her face since she was a baby.

However, their daughter has been good material, even before birth. With the taping of “The Honeymoon Standup Special,” Leggero is part of a contingent of comics to have done a comedy special pregnant, including Ali Wong and Amy Schumer.

Before the special, she appeared in a white bodycon dress on a late-night show. While Leggero does not plan on doing a whole special on their kid, she wrote: “The World Deserves My Children.” The couple did not know how cool she’ll be and didn’t have many complaints about her in their sets.
