Netflix’s Fool Me Once has gripped the nation since it premiered on New Year’s Day.
The show, based on the novel of the same name by Harlan Coben, has spent days at the number one spot on the streaming platform. Its many twists and turns have provided non-stop talking points (don’t worry, there are no major spoilers ahead) and the show’s star-studded cast has gone down a treat with viewers.
Led by Michelle Keegan as Maya Stern and starring huge names such as Joanna Lumley, the show follows Maya’s quest to unearth the mystery surrounding her husband’s murder as she also battles to rid herself of the demons which still linger from her Army days.

And just to add to the excitement already bubbling around the show, eagle-eyed viewers watching at home have noticed a Yorkshire connection in one of its most dramatic early scenes.
A car chase ensues between Maya and an unknown person when she notices the vehicle that has been falling her during the first few episodes. Maya tries to keep up with the slick driver, but they manage to disappear down a slip road as she becomes boxed in by slower moving traffic.
The main road shown in the scene has now been identified by viewers as the A58 in Halifax. A member of one local group wrote: “Watching Fool Me Once in Netflix, [sic] although it isn’t set in Halifax there’s one particular chase scene that was very clearly filmed here.”

A picture from the series showing Maya’s blue Jaguar in the midst of the chase scene accompanied the post. People were quick to add to the debate in the comments, with some saying they recalled the road being shut in August 2023 for filming.
Despite the excitement, some said they had spotted a problem with the scene when they noticed the car being driven by Maya’s ‘stalker’ pulls off the street on the wrong side of the road.
“Did you notice they went down the entry slip the wrong way lol,” wrote one.
