Nicole Kidman’s ‘Forever Valentine’ Keith Urban Grinds Beans, Makes Coffee Cooks a Bit for His Family

Despite their busy schedules, Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, are devoted parents. The actress shares two children with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, and she and Urban also have two kids together.

With their levels of success, maintaining a balance between work and family can be taxing, but the couple decided long ago to put family first. In their household, everyone has a voice, and the children are free to voice their dissent when they don’t want their parents to take on a project.

The pair also shared that they have a rule against electronics, and they often turn off the television for extended periods to spend time with each other. They always encourage their kids to play outside, and their children’s friends aren’t allowed to bring electronics over. Urban commented on family life:

“Balance is never achieved; it’s just maintained. No, no, this marriage, this family, it’s a garden. It’s not fixed and then you move on; it’s maintained on a daily basis. I finally get that now.”

Urban and Kidman are very much still in love, which was evident in a Valentine’s Day post the actress made to celebrate their marriage. The Instagram post showed the couple sharing a kiss, and Kidman captioned it, “My Forever Valentine.”

Who Is the Cook and What about Coffee?

Urban and Kidman try to keep their lives as normal as possible. Both of them love a good cup of coffee, and they always start their day by having one together. Urban even said he takes his coffee-grinding gear with him on tours because he enjoys the “ritual” of making his own cup when he starts his day.

Urban’s love for coffee has even put him in some hilarious situations.

Urban is such a caffeine fanatic that he showed off his morning preparations on his Instagram account. He proudly displayed his two pour-over coffee makers with large jugs attached. The country singer captioned the post, “…. oh I don’t just ‘make some coffee’…. oh no no ……..”

Kidman is no stranger to a cup of warm brew, either. In September, the actress posted a photo of her waiting for a cup of joe while on set. She made the post in honor of National Coffee Day and captioned it, “Lining up on set ❤️.” And, besides their love for coffee, they share the cooking duties at home.

Since Nashville is known for its cookouts, Urban mentioned he takes responsibility in the kitchen, but Kidman takes over quite often. He also showed his love for healthy living by sharing a “Crimson Blue” smoothie recipe in honor of his song by the same name.

When Did an Old Lady Buy Coffee for Keith Urban?

Urban’s love for coffee has even put him in some hilarious situations. In 2018, the country star went out for a cup with his sister, and his credit card malfunctioned while he was paying the bill. Luckily, a resident of the area was close by, and she saw him struggling to pay.

At the time, the New Jersey local and her husband had decided to engage in random acts of kindness. They often picked up the tab for military personnel moving through their city. She made a point of it to do something nice for a stranger at least once a week, and when she saw Urban struggling, she jumped in.

However, she had no idea who she was helping initially. She paid for his coffee and introduced herself. He introduced himself in turn, and she realized he looked slightly familiar. After a back-and-forth, Urban convinced her that he was, in fact, the famous musician, and she couldn’t believe what had just happened:

“I said, ‘You look like Keith Urban. Do people ever tell you you look like Keith Urban?’ And he said, ‘I am Keith Urban.’ I said, ‘No, you’re not, really.”

When she finally realized who she was talking to, she burst out with disbelieving laughter. Urban remained polite throughout the exchange, and the two took a photo together. Afterward, the woman commented that he remained charming even though she got quite “snippy” at one stage.
