‘No Need to Be Fake’: Alana Thompson Fans Assure She Looks ‘So Much Better’ without Fake Lashes

Recent high school grad Alana Thompson aka Honey Boo Boo did a dramatic reveal of her thick glamorous eyelashes on Instagram in July to a mixed reaction.

“The lashes are cute, but in my opinion, ” a popular comment read, “your natural eyelashes are even prettier!” Alana Thompson showed a before photo of her bare face on a phone screen to slowly show off her false eyelashes done by a Georgia esthetician.

The lyric, “Baby girl you look so pretty,” loops in the clip. “So much better without!” another fan who prefers the ‘before’ look said,” Natural is the way to go! Don’t buy into all the false things they want you to think make you look better!”

One comment sparked a debate, “I am sick of everyone wearing humongous lashes. You look much prettier, just natural. But no one believes that because we are told you have to look like an artificial clown to be okay. Sad.”

“Not your body, mind your business,” one pointed out, while a second wrote, “They’re just lashes calm down.” A third asked, “Why are you sick about other people’s appearances? Worry about your own lashes.”

This prompted the original commenter to write, “Because they are ridiculously expensive. She is a beautiful girl. No need to be fake to be ‘pretty.'”

Alana Thompson graduated from high school with a 3.0 GPA in May 2023 and received a scholarship to study nursing at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. “It’s top three nursing programs in the world,” her proud sister and guardian Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird said.

Having been on television for most of her childhood, Thompson knows she will likely always be in the spotlight. She joked, “It doesn’t matter what I do, I will always probably be known as, ‘Oh my god, Honey Boo Boo’s working on my baby when he was in the NICU.'”

Honey Boo Boo is hyper-focused on getting through college with no plans to join a sorority. However, she was vague if the cameras would follow her to Colorado.

In the new “Mama June: From Not to Hot” season, which aired earlier this year, Alana and two sisters, Lauryn and Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon were on better terms with their mother, Mama June Shannon.
