Why the Roos are wearing a different colour
North Melbourne are wearing a special jumper today to help promote the Good Friday appeal.
The club said the guernsey combines the Kangaroos’ royal blue and white and iconic Bounding Roo design with the colours of the Good Friday Appeal: purple and green.

McKay goals
There has been a lot of pressure on the key defenders in the opening term and it is leading to free kicks and then goals.
Harry McKay is the latest forward to be impeded and he has booted his first goal.

Blues forward Corey Durdin has come up with a classic crumbing goal after winning the ball on the ground and kicking it home from a tight angle.

Curtis, Larkey kick quick ones
Paul Curtis has been tripped in the pocket and kicked the goal to put the Roos back ahead.
They were quickly into attack after the centre bounce for Curtis’ goal and they did so again to push the ball forward to Nick Larkey.
He converted his shot and now they are ahead.
Roos 18, Blues 7 with 13 mins to go in Q1.

Hewett puts Blues ahead
George Hewett has won a free kick in the forward line after being tackled high and the midfielder has slotted his shot for goal to put the Blues ahead.
It’s been a willing start and the Roos are holding their own despite struggling for territory.

Zurhaar opens scoring
Cam Zurhaar has won a free kick off the ball and he has taken full advantage of the opportunity kicking the opening goal of the match.
He was only around 30 metres from goal and North couldn’t have dreamed of a better start.
