Though the reason of Petito’s death was disclosed, Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue declined to divulge specifics regarding Petito’s autopsy or a probable suspect, stating that he was constrained in what information he could lawfully share.
The autopsy has confirmed that she was killed due to being strangulated by the attacker. However, the authorities are yet to confirm who the attacker is and what was his or her motive behind the incident. As per the news, Brian Laundrie, her fiancé, is still missing. He returned to Florida without her following their tour across the Western United States.
