Former NFL player Kevin Ware Jr. is alleged to have burned his ex-girlfriend’s body after killing her, according to prosecutors’ claims on Wednesday.

Ware hasn’t played in the NFL since as far back as 2004, though the former player has been charged with tampering with evidence, specifically a corpse, after Taylor Pomaski was found dead in Texas in 2021.

Now, months after Pomaski‘s passing, gruesome details of her murder have been revealed in court.

The 42-year-old was charged after the 29-year-old’s remains were found back in December. Prior to the finding of her body, Pomaski had been missing for seven months. She was last seen fighting with Ware at a party that they were hosting.

On Wednesday, documents filed in court accuse Ware of burning Pomaski‘s body after killing her. He could face life in prison if convicted.

Ware was reportedly arrested on unrelated drug and gun charges after a 2019 arrest. Then, the Montgomery County Police Reporter says that he was caught with a loaded AK-47, large amounts of cocaine and marijuana, along with methamphetamine.

Pomaski’s disappearance

Having last been seen at a party at her home in Texas in April 2021, Pomaski was missing for as long as seven months before she was found dead.

Authorities suspected foul play in her disappearance from the beginning, and Ware was identified as a suspect by prosecutors as far back as June 2021.

Pomaski‘s remains were found in December of that same year in Harris County. She was 29 years old.

Now Ware is facing a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, but could be handed a life sentence.
