South Yorkshire Police have seized almost £150,000 worth of cannabis from a farm in Sheffield.
According to the police, on Sunday, January 21, they responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Wychwood Grove in Sothall. When they arrived, the police located a cannabis farm with 148 plants inside, estimated to be worth more than £148,000.
The police say this discovery marked the start of the Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action. This week is meant to highlight and recognise the work of local policing teams.
Superintendent Paul Ferguson, who is leading the week, said: “Our neighbourhood policing teams are at the very centre of the communities we serve. These officers play a vital role in policing every day, listening to concerns and handling the issues that matter most to our residents.
“This week provides an opportunity for us to thank our officers and celebrate the outstanding work they complete daily.”
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a controlled drug. He remains in police custody.
