Another man has been arrested after police launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man’s body at a property in Sheffield.
South Yorkshire Police said on Friday its officers were called to reports that a man had been assaulted on Ironside Walk in the Gleadless area of the city at around 1.30pm on Friday, December 15. While there, officers discovered the man’s body inside a property.
A 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assault and since then, along with a 35-year-old man, have been re-arrested on suspicion of murder.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police, said: “A murder investigation is now underway following the discovery of the body of a man in Sheffield on Friday 15 December. We were called to reports that a man had been assaulted on Ironside Walk in the Gleadless area. Officers attended and the man’s body was found inside a property on the street at around 1.30pm.
“An investigation was launched and a 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assault. They remain in custody at this time. The pair, plus a 35 year old man, have now been re-arrested on suspicion of murder.”
