Sparks and an ‘explosion’ were heard in Sheffield earlier today.
Video footage shared by Sheffield Online showed “crazy scenes” in Abbeydale Road and in Mount Pleasant Park at about 3pm today. Multiple loud bangs were heard in the street.
Bright red lights and sparks were seen on the busy street, where cars and buses were going by. The ‘explosion’ left a smoke cloud behind.
A number of pedestrians, including children, were spotted running and screaming. Eyewitnesses said it was a group of people who caused the explosion and sparks.
After a video clip was shared on social media, one person said: “Fireworks need to stop being sold to the general public.”
