Rich In-Laws ‘Torture’ Widower after Wife’s Death – They Tried to Take His Kids Away

Social media is a place where many people turn for comfort. This was true for one user who turned to other social media users to share his revenge stories against his grandmother and aunt.

A Reddit user took to the platform to share his story about how he and his siblings exacted revenge on their rich and pompous family members after their mother passed away. The original poster (OP) waited years before finally avenging his father.

OP shared background for the readers’ benefit, saying that their father had grown up in a working-class family while their mother was raised in a wealthy and prominent family in their city. OP’s mother’s family was well-connected and had many friends in high places.

OP’s mother’s family saw their father as a “pleb” and even demanded that OP and his brother be named after people in their family since the siblings would share their father’s surname. However, the nightmare only got worse as the siblings aged.

When the siblings reached eight and nine, their mother was diagnosed with cancer. OP’s father was by their mother’s side the entire time, but her family was not. Her mother said she could not move despite being in perfect health, and her sister said she was too busy.

When the siblings’ mom died when they were 12 and 13, they cried, and their father was devastated. However, their aunt phoned their father almost immediately and said he was to go and meet her at once.

Their father never expected to meet his sister-in-law with a lawyer at her side, but that was what he found. As they spoke, OP’s aunt attacked his father and said he was an unfit father and that she and her family wanted custody of his kids.

OP’s father refused, but the aunt responded with “pestering and abuse” before their mother’s funeral had even taken place. For many years, OP’s mother’s family abused OP’s father and made demands before accusing him of assaulting OP’s aunt.

When that accusation came out, many people turned their backs on OP, his brother, and their father. They then tried to remove the siblings’ inheritance and buried OP’s father in paperwork and legalities. “They made his life torture,” OP revealed, despite his father being a wonderful man. OP gushed:

“He provided for us, and despite his mental state being awful, he was an amazing dad.”

After years of this kind of abuse, it finally stopped, and OP’s father found love again with a new woman who made him happy. However, the siblings were provided the perfect opportunity to avenge their father.

Ten years after their mother passed away, the siblings were in university, and their lives were going well when they got an invitation to their cousin’s wedding. Although their father wasn’t invited, the siblings accepted the invitation.

They knew that their mother’s entire family would be there and that many prominent people would be at the ceremony and the celebration afterward, making it the perfect time to exact revenge.

The siblings sat quietly during the ceremony and waited until the wedding reception before sharing their side of the story in a public setting in front of famous faces.

At the reception, OP saw their aunt talking to the mayor and knew it was the perfect time to follow their plan. As they expected, OP’s aunt began berating their father and told others how unfit he was as a parent.

Taking the opportunity to right a wrong, OP voiced out that his father had been a fantastic parent whom their mother’s family had abused. Then OP and his brother went on to shared details of what happened to their father and how her mother’s family mistreated him.

“After I finished, complete silence fell, OP recalled. “My aunt was red from anger; my grandmother was on the verge of bursting into tears, and everyone else was shocked.”

OP’s cousin asked their mother if the stories were true, and everyone who had heard what happened was horrified. OP said they thanked God for their dad and credited him with their university studies going well.

Later, OP learned from other people that their mother’s family had lost contact with all the important people they used to know, and their businesses had closed down because nobody would support them after learning what they did. OP only felt sorry for their employees, who now had no jobs.
