Ricki Lake Is ‘Aging Backwards’ as Followers Praise Her ‘Dopest’ Gray Hair

Ricki Lake shaved her hair in an emotional video after a battle with hair loss and has recently shown off how beautifully her gray locks have grown back. In the comments section, fans were quick to praise the actress, who also shared exciting news about her love life.

In a recent Instagram post, Lake proved she has aged like fine wine as she posed for a selfie. “A fine Tuesday,” she captioned the post, wearing a pair of glasses and light makeup. But it was her hair that stole the show.

“Your hair color is the dopest!!!!! And the cut, too!!!!!” one fan commented, and another wrote, “Seeing how beautiful you are makes me not afraid for the gray hair and glasses when it happens to me.” A third fan shared, “Forget about the Marth selfie, how bout this Ricki selfie!! You are aging backward. You look absolutely beautiful (sic).”

And a fourth typed, “You are as cute today as you were 30 years younger. Unreal.” The actress has been very candid about her hair loss journey due to alopecia, and in January, she celebrated the three-year anniversary of the emotional day she shaved off her hair.

“3 years ago today, on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve day 2019, I took a brave ass leap of faith and chose to make the drastic decision to shave my head after years and years of struggling in secret w/ my androgenic hair loss… After three years, I can honestly say I appreciate and love my natural, gray and sometimes wild, unruly head of hair,” she captioned the post in part.

In 2022, Lake shared two side-by-side pictures of her shaved head and of her hair two years later, documenting how much it had grown and in stunning shades of gray. “I could not be happier with my results and to finally be at peace with my hair loss struggles,” she shared.

2022 proved to be a very special year for Ricki Lake, as it was also when she said “I do” to her now husband, Ross Burningham. The “Hairspray” star announced she had tied the knot on Instagram and wowed in an orange dress on her wedding day as she and Burningham exchanged vows before a beautiful sunset.

Lake’s wedding day came a year after her engagement to Burningham, which she also shared on Instagram in a post of the two smiling. “Friends, I’m so so so excited to share some good news! I’m engaged! This is Ross. He is my person. He is wonderful,” she revealed.
