American comedienne Rosie O’Donnell’s teenage daughter Vivienne has blasted her on social media. Vivienne has claimed that her mother did not provide an ordinary childhood experience.

The youngster took to her TikTok page and told her followers that although she was beyond grateful for her mother, she was the opposite of what people portrayed her to be.

“I love all these comments about how Rosie kept my life normal. No offense, mom, no, that never happened,” said Vivienne adding, “She has done so much for me, and I’m incredibly thankful for her, but one thing she has not done is normal.”

Rosie responded to her daughter’s comments on TikTok, asking her what she was on about, adding what she said was untrue:

“Vivi, what do you mean I didn’t do anything normal? I did normal things. I’m normal. Jeez, Viv. I’m going to tell some secrets about you.”

The Kids’ Choice Award winner has had a roller-coaster relationship with her oldest daughter Chelsea, who addressed their strained relations in an interview with the Daily Mail in October 2015. The Michigan native claimed that her mom kicked her out of the family home two weeks before she turned 18:

“She told me to leave and take my dog. Rosie knew I was planning to leave. That’s why I think she kicked me out. She asked me to talk about what was going on, and I didn’t want to. So she asked for my phone and my computer.”

Chelsea noted that that interaction occurred hours before her mother told her to leave the property. “I gave them to her. A few hours later, she told me to leave. I wasn’t planning to go until I turned 18 on the 24th,” she said.

A rep for Rosie told People at the time that the back and forth with Chelsea was “heart-breaking on every level.” She has previously disclosed that her daughter was mentally ill, but Chelsea denied it but admitted that she suffered from anxiety and depression.

Still, she said it was “hurtful” for her mom to reveal such private details of her life. Chelsea explained that her condition had gotten a lot better over time, adding that it was a subject matter she did not want just anyone else to know:

“I wouldn’t say I am mentally ill – I would say lots of people struggle with what I have.”

In addition, Chelsea and her mom had a severed mother and daughter relationship because she was “pretty much raised by nannies,” whom she became close with except for her parent. She expressed that she would have loved to have that motherly experience while also noting that nannies good people:

“I would have liked to have my parents more in the picture raising me instead of nannies – although my nannies are great people.”

Rosie later openly talked about her volatile relationship with her daughter in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying that she loves all her children and that Chelsea had been on the news consistently.

However, that did not come as a surprise to their family because, according to the Emmy Award winner, the feud between them had been ongoing for a decade:

“It’s been a decade-long. As a mom, my wish is for love and peace and wait until it’s done.”

Rosie had her wish granted as she and Chelsea were finally able to mend their relationship. After five years of being estranged, Rosie gave an update on their relationship:

“I think my relationship with my daughter, Chelsea, has [gotten stronger] because we went through some troubled public times. She’s doing better now, and we’re both communicating with each other.”

The television producer adopted Chelsea as an infant with her former spouse, Kelli Carpenter-O’Donnell. In January 2019, Chelsea made her mom a first-time grandmother when she welcomed her daughter Skylar on December 18, 2018, with her boyfriend, Jacob Bourassa.

“It was something beautiful. It’s very trite, but it’s what everyone says – when you’re a grandparent, it’s like [having] a baby times a million. And that’s what it felt like,” said Rosie of being a grandmother.

The mother of five revealed that although she missed the birth, she was right there afterward. Fast forward to February 2022, the esteemed actress became a grandmother for the third time.

The elated TV personality announced on social media that Chelsea, who has only daughters, had welcomed her third child and hinted that it would be chaotic since they were all under the age of three:

“Okay, big news. Congratulations to my daughter, Chelsea, who had her third daughter this morning. Three girls under three, oh my gosh!”

The New York native adopted another son named Blake in December 1999. Not much is known about Blake. However, he constantly features on his mother’s social media posts, including his girlfriend, Teresa.

In her second marriage with her former late wife, Michelle Rounds, to whom she was married from 2012 to 2015, Rosie adopted another daughter, who happens to be her youngest child, Dakota, in January 2013.

The mother and daughter duo have an unbreakable bond. The author has shared many photos and videos of them being goofy together. Moreover, Rounds sadly took her own life two years after she and Rosie divorced.
