Ciara did not have good luck with men until she met Russell Wilson. The quarterback is a wonderful stepdad to her first child with rapper Future.

The couple remained celibate while dating and had their first child together within nine months of the wedding.

How Russell Wilson Met His Future Wife Ciara

Russell met Ciara at a basketball game during March Madness. He later tweeted that he “instantly fell madly in love.” With a business dinner on his schedule already, he tried to set up a date for ten o’clock, but the “I’m Out” singer did not want to meet up that late.

The footballer pushed back his colleagues to the later timeslot and took the singer out on their first date. He realized he was in trouble when it was thirty minutes past midnight, and they had both forgotten about his business commitment.

The couple was first spotted at the “I Can Do That” wrap party. At Russel’s request, the couple remained celibate during their courtship. He confided in Pastor Miles McPherson that it was not an easy decision and asked for his prayers.

Russel Wilson Proposed with a 16-Carat Diamond

Wilson whisked Ciara away on a surprise Seychelles holiday after Paris Fashion Week in 2016. He proposed with a 16-carat diamond ring on a private beach. The “Love Sex Magic” star’s team confirmed the engagement to Us Weekly in March 2026.

Wilson begged her for more babies.

Glamor called the round center stone a flawless, brilliant cut diamond and noted trapezoid-shaped and pear-shaped diamonds flanked it. The dazzling piece of jewelry was updated with gem-encrusted eternity bands after the wedding.

Ciara Married Russel Wilson in an English Castle

True to Russel always treating Ciara like a queen, the couple got married at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England, on July 6, 2016. A hundred guests attended the black-tie event, including celebrity friends like Kelly Rowland and tennis star Serena Williams.

The “Greatest Love” singer said “I do” in a lace Cavalli Couture gown, and her husband wore a black Giorgio Armani Made-to-Measure suit, per PEOPLE. The eight bridesmaids wore custom black Michael Costello floor-length dresses.

On Snapchat, the newlyweds joked about breaking their celibacy the day after the wedding. Us Weekly reports, Russel quipped that they would do what they had done the previous night a few more times.

Russell and Ciara Had a Honeymoon Baby

Russell and Ciara welcomed their baby girl Sienna Princess Wilson on April 29, 2017, nine months after their wedding. In Sisi’s Instagram birth announcement, her parents promised to be her “calm in the storm.”

Ciara had her first child, Future Zahir Wilburn, with former fiancé Future on May 19, 2014. The couple broke up following reports of cheating from the rapper’s side a few months after their son’s birth. Meanwhile, his stepdad says Future jr. is his “joy every morning.”

Winn Harrison Wilson came into Russell and Ciara’s lives on July 23, 2020. According to PEOPLE, he took his first steps on a football field during his dad’s practice.

Meet the Wilsons, a Blended Family

The “Goodies” singer told Entertainment Tonight that their brood “run the house.” When Ciara guest-hosted “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on March 2, 2022, Russel begged her for more babies, to which she said yes, in time.

The couple announced they were launching R&C Fragrance which features two interlocking perfume bottles, on September 3, 2021. The brand won gold at the 2021 Pentawards.

The family relocated to Denver in 2022 after the quarterback was traded to the Broncos after a decade with the Seattle Seahawks. The “Level Up” singer gushed about their new city to Entertainment Tonight, saying she loved the food and fans but had to adjust to the high altitude.

Russel paid tribute to Ciara on her birthday in 2020, saying on Instagram that she is a fantastic wife and mother. He added that she is “God’s beautiful child, and HE is wildly obsessed” with her.
