Shane Deary: His Life before after He Became Keri Russell’s Ex-husband

Shane Deary, who was once married to “The Diplomat” actress Keri Russell, seems to have chosen to maintain a relatively private life even several years after their split.

Shane Deary, whose name may not be as widely known as his former spouse, Keri Russell, forged a career path for himself that is not in the entertainment industry.

Before and after their marriage, he continuously honed his craft and built a reputation for his exceptional workmanship. Even though their marriage ended almost ten years back, with people not knowing about the duo’s breakup, his life sparked public curiosity.

Shane Deary appears a mystery to the public, as he stays away from the Hollywood scene except for accompanying his wife to special events. However, he is known for his involvement in carpentry.

He is the co-owner of Deary Construction, a family-owned renovation and millwork company in Brooklyn, New York. The company has also gained recognition for its expertise in general contracting services.

The firm has renovated numerous Brooklyn and San Antonio, Texas townhouses. Notably, he remodeled his and Russell’s house the year they married.

In 2019, Deary and his team of carpenters worked on renovating another house project together.

Shane Deary and Russell tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony during a snowstorm in New York in 2007 after dating for several years. Only a small circle of close friends witnessed the couple’s union.

Shortly after tying the knot, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named River. Before her child’s birth, the actress felt excited about her journey to parenthood. She said:

“I’m one of the lucky ones. So far it’s been nice and easy. It’s a big, life-changing experience, and we’re excited.”

In December 2012, Russell and Deary welcomed their youngest daughter, Willa Lou. However, just a year later, in 2013, Russell and Deary reportedly called it quits.

The reason for their separation is unknown, but according to the actress’s representative, the couple’s split was amicable, and their main priority was taking care of their children.

Both Russell and Deary actively share parental responsibilities, even after their separation. Shortly after announcing their split, they were spotted together, taking their kids to school.

Since their divorce, Russell and Deary haven’t been pictured together much in recent years. Nevertheless, both exes seem preoccupied with their careers and now lead separate lives.

He remains focused on his carpentry business. In 2016, he was involved in installing kitchen shelves for a client. In 2019, Deary and his team of carpenters worked on renovating another house project together.

Russell, on the other hand, continues thriving in the entertainment industry. Her recent on-screen projects were the 2013-2018 FX series “The Americans” and the 2023 Netflix drama “The Diplomat.”
