Knightley later said that she was so young when she worked in “Star Wars” that she couldn’t remember much of it. Her character spent so much time in the background that it was hard for her not to fall asleep.

Three years after “Phantom Menace” came out, Knightley was cast in “Bend It Like Beckham” – her breakthrough role. She then achieved worldwide fame as Elizabeth Swann in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series.
