Sir and Rumi Carter’s Birthday Remind Beyonce’s Twins Are Growing up Fast

Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s children are growing up quickly, and on June 13, 2022, their rarely-seen twins, Sir and Rumi Carter turned five. Even though the doting parents are notoriously private, here is a look into the lives of the Carter children.

When Beyoncé and Jay Z welcomed their twins in 2017, it was a source close to the pair that initially broke the news. However, there was no immediate information on the newborns’ gender or names.

The superstar singer and her businessman husband, who married in 2008, already had a five-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, and Queen Bey confirmed her pregnancy on Instagram in February.

While making the announcement, Beyoncé informed her fans that her family would like to share their love and happiness as they had been blessed twice.

While thanking fans for their good wishes, she further stated that they were incredibly grateful for their family’s growth. So how old are the Carter children, and what is known about them?

FACTS ABOUT SIR AND RUMI CARTER

According to the twins’ birth certificates, which TMZ obtained, Beyoncé gave birth to Rumi and Sir at 5:13 a.m. local time on June 13, 2017, at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. So on June 13, 2022, the twins turned five.

Rumi is the oldest of the twins as she was born first and was shortly followed by Sir. Dr. Paul Crane, who oversaw their birth, is the same doctor responsible for delivering many celebrity babies.

He was the doctor who delivered Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick’s children, Mason, Penelope, and Reign. He also delivered Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s daughter, Dream, and the birth of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s children North and Saint.

After Rumi and Sir were born, they were reportedly hospitalized to receive light treatment. Bili lights are a type of phototherapy used to treat neonatal jaundice. Jaundice is characterized by yellowish skin and eyes caused by an excess of bilirubin, a yellow pigment.

Though the couple never mentioned the health of their twins, this information could mean that the twins had jaundice, a common occurrence among newborns, especially premature babies.

However, the Carters ensured that they kept Beyoncé’s pregnancy under wraps while she came to term. They also controlled the release of photos and videos of the star as her pregnancy advanced.

The twins made their big-screen debut when Beyoncé released the visual album “Black is King.” Rumi appeared in the “Brown Skin Girl” music video as she posed alongside her mom, grandmother, and big sister Blue Ivy.

Sir made an appearance at the end of the visual album in a picture of Beyoncé cradling him to her chest. In that scene, she dedicated the album to Sir and all their sons and daughters as she told them they were the kingdom’s keys.

Blue Ivy Carter is the eldest child and first daughter of rapper Jay-Z and singer Beyoncé born on January 7, 2012. She made her public début during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards when Beyoncé confirmed her pregnancy on stage.
