A June 2022 Facebook article showed how different the actress was when she was younger compared to now. In the past, the star who played J.R. Ewing’s secretary for ten years before making her comeback on the show looked fuller and plumper.

She used to have long wavy, and fuller hair in the past, but now it was thinner, straight, and shorter but less complementary to the celebrity. While she wasn’t smiling in her first picture taken at the movie premiere, a second photo showed her beaming as she stood facing her side.

From 1981 until 1991, she featured in “Dallas,” making that 183 episodes as Lovegren. Rennard was born in Los Angeles County, California, before becoming a producer and actress known for many shows and films like 2020’s “FBI: Most Wanted.”

Her first and only husband was Paul Haggis, whom she married from June 21, 1997, until their divorce on May 11, 2016. The couple welcomed one child during their union, but the actress was also the stepmother to three of Paul’s children from a previous relationship.

The celebrity’s biological child was James Haggis, while her stepchildren were Alissa Sullivan, Lauren, and Katy Haggis. The “Show Me a Hero” star’s ex-husband was a producer, a writer, and a director who was an Oscar Award recipient.

Sadly for the actress, her marriage failed because of something her ex-husband did while they were together. However, when Paul faced the law for some accusations, Rennard came to his rescue.

Rennard’s private life was covered in controversy, and in 2022, her ex-husband faced a trial after being accused of sexual assault by one woman. While taking the stand, the “Crash” writer and director (who earned $94,000 for his involvement in the crime drama) broke down crying while admitting:

“I’ve always been a flirt.”

Paul also confessed to having cheated on Rennard during their marriage but said he was pleased to get the chance to defend himself against the accusations he faced. The producer cried and asked his ex-wife to forgive him for his infidelity during his civil case.

Rennard said Paul had cheated on her with around 20 women during their 12-year marriage. The “Million Dollar Baby” screenwriter claimed the accusations brought against him were a plan by the Church of Scientology to destroy his life after he spoke against them.

Speaking to a Manhattan Supreme Court jury in the third week of his trial, Paul said he’d been nervous about testifying but happy to clear his now after five years of being unable to. The then-69-year-old director emphasized that he was “sorry” for cheating on his ex-wife.

Speaking on his [Paul Haggis] character, the actress [Deborah Rennard] said she met him 26 years before, and he had bad credit due to co-signing mortgages so that six of his friends could afford homes.

Rennard’s ex revealed that she had become his best friend after their divorce. While crying, Paul noted how the actress was in the courtroom and that few people stood up for a person in complicated situations like that.

The “Dallas” star got to testify in her ex-husband’s case the same morning before he took the stand, probably because she was the mother of his child and his children’s stepmother. She might’ve had her dirty laundry exposed to the world and even embarrassed in front of the courtroom and attendants later, but she stood up for him.

Rennard shared with the court that she found the allegations against her children’s father difficult to believe. The celebrity said the claims were “hard to believe” and inconsistent with what she’d known about her ex-husband for over 30 years.

In her statement, the star said she wasn’t someone who courageously stood up for others or spoke out for the underdog, as that would be what Paul would do. She described the director as selfless, caring, and generous.

Speaking on his character, the actress said she had met him 26 years before, and he had bad credit due to co-signing mortgages so that six friends could afford homes. Sadly, all those people defaulted on their loans and caused Paul to become bankrupt.

During his first marriage, Rennard’s ex-husband was married to Diane Christine Gettas. The former couple initially tied the knot on April 9, 1977, welcomed their three children, and then divorced in 1997.

Rennard and Paul’s son, James, ended up following in his mother’s footsteps and his father in the entertainment industry by becoming an actor. His career appeared to have started when he got a spot in his father’s project, “Crash,” in 2004.

A few years later, in 2007, James got another role in “In The Valley of Elah.” In 2023, the actress’ son was set to star in “Gran Turismo,” a movie based on a true story, as part of the additional crew of the loop group.
