Spying on His Mother’s Phone, Boy Finds Message His Cheating Mother Sent Her Lover

A boy was traveling in his car with his mother when he took her phone to change the song. While browsing through the playlist, a message notification popped up. Feeling tempted, he tapped on it and was shocked to read his mother’s conversation with an unknown man.

The 18-year-old boy turned to Reddit for advice after discovering who his mother was secretly talking to. He had a plan in his mind but wasn’t sure if he should execute it. 

Other Redditors shared their views, allowing the boy to look at the situation differently. They guided the boy on what to do next.

The only son of his parents wrote a detailed Reddit post under the username InTheVirtualTrash, describing what he had witnessed recently. 

He saw his mother was using her phone more than usual. While they were driving in the car, he asked her for her phone to change the song. 

He was browsing through her playlist when a message popped up. Curious, he tapped on it and read his mother’s conversation with an unknown man. 

The young man was shocked to discover that his mother was dating another man behind his father’s back. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he read their intimate conversation. 

He shared a message from his mother’s conversation with the man.

Following his discovery, he searched the man’s name on the internet and found that he lived in another state with his wife and children. The young boy felt sad for his father and the man’s wife. 

He knew that his father loved his mother immensely because he had worked hard to give them the best life. The boy wanted to tell his father everything because he did not want him to put his energy into a dying relationship.

However, he first wanted to confront his mother. He wanted to ask her why she was cheating on his father. Moreover, he wanted to inform the lover’s wife that her husband was cheating on her. 

Going through the messages made him feel that the man was good at manipulating his family because his wife thought their marriage was going well.

Since he had his mother’s past phone location, he could easily prove that she was with the other man multiple times. However, he wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to contact the other woman. 

He wrote a detailed Reddit post and asked other Redditors if he should contact the wife of the man his mother was cheating on his father with. Before concluding his post, he shared a message from his mother’s conversation with the man:

“Baby, being married to you… that’s the dream.”

“Just confirm your parents are not in an “open” relationship, and your mom is truly lying to your dad,” Redditor HKatzOnline suggested.

The Redditor also advised OP (Original Poster) to inform the man’s wife if his parents are not in an open relationship and the man knows that his mother is married. 

OP replied that he was sure his parents were not in an open relationship. He also assured that his father was clueless about his mother’s affair. 

Meanwhile, Redditor 2715murder said that OP shouldn’t tell his mother that he knew about her affair. “I feel like warning the man and your mom that you know just gives them the opportunity to minimize, make up excuses, etc.,” the Redditor explained. 

The boy replied that he had screenshots of their conversation as evidence, so denying their affair wouldn’t work. He said he was “giving his mother a chance to confess” by confronting her first.

Most Redditors assured OP it was OK to contact the other woman and inform her about her husband’s affair. Some users said he would be at fault if he didn’t talk to her.
