When she was two, her parents took her to live in the projects with a family she had never seen before. The family practiced a religion that was a mix of catholicism and superstition, and the man of the house was strict and volatile.

Stacey’s parents sometimes made brief appearances, momentarily bringing her joy, thinking they had come to take her home. However, they would soon vanish once more, leaving her alone.

Her experience living with strangers became a norm as her parents often left her with unfamiliar people so they could party. In her book, she disclosed that she lived most of her life utterly dependent on strangers.

Growing up, she didn’t have much supervision from her parents. The actress narrated in her memoir an incident that occurred as a toddler. She was left with a family that had a teenage son who lured her to go into his room and sexually abused her.

Stacey was born in 1967 to a Mexican mother and a black father. The actress, who grew up in South Bronx, revealed that her parents sent her to different schools and even lost count of the schools she attended.

Stacey also discussed her connection with her father, sadly revealing that he had succumbed to a drug overdose just one day before her son was born.

She once opened up about her relationship with her parents during an interview. The “Clueless” star, who co-starred with Paul Rudd, Brittany Murphy, and Alicia Silverstone, revealed that she didn’t know her parents were drug addicts until she was 12.

She recalled an incident where her father hit her because she had thrown his drugs into the woods. While the actress admitted that she didn’t have a great relationship with her parents growing up, Stacey stated that as she became an adult, she began to understand that her parent’s drug addiction was an illness.

During that same interview, she shared heartfelt insights into her relationships with her parents. She disclosed that she had forgiven her mother and enjoyed a strong bond with her three days before her mother’s passing.

In 2017, Stacey took to Twitter to share a heartfelt post dedicated to her mother. She posted a photo of herself and her mother and expressed her gratitude to everyone who had offered their condolences during that time.

Stacey also discussed her connection with her father, sadly revealing that he had succumbed to a drug overdose just one day before her son was born. Before his tragic passing, she spoke to him, expressing her love, which he reciprocated with the same affectionate words.

In 2021, Stacey experienced the loss of her grandfather. She shared a poignant video expressing her grief over his passing. In the video, she fondly recalled the cherished moments she had shared with him and reflected on their last phone call.

Stacey is a celebrated actress who rose to fame following her role in the 1995 rom-com film, “Clueless.” She is also an author and former political commentator who, at one point, had aspirations to run for political office.
