Strictly Come Dancing has been thrown into chaos as fans fear that Shirley Ballas could miss this weekend’s shows as she has revealed she has been struck down with illness.
The star has been a judge on the BBC hit dance show since 2017 when she took over as main judge Len Goodman.
Shirly has now left fans worried as she told them that she has “caught something” just days before the first live show.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Shirley shared a video of herself lying in her bed, where she explained that she had been on a trip to Rome and had been working hard on a dance championship.
Sounding a little croaky, Shirley said: “What a difference a day makes. So back from Rome where it was busy, lots of people and then in the studio because we are running up to the Royal Albert Hall international championships.
“And yes I think I have caught something. So not very well today, not at work. Want to rest and make sure I’m ready for Strictly on Saturday.”
On a lighter note, Shirley went on to ask fans and social media followers to share their favourite air fryer brands as she was considering buying one before she drew attention back to her ill health, The Mirror reports.

She said: “To anyone else feeling under the weather, I’m sending you lots of love, and cuddles. And I’m really excited about Saturday, wait until you see this show. It is phenomenal. I think actually all of them will be staying until the final, they are all that good.”
A few hours later, Shirley shared another short video of herself showing that she was able to sit upright in her bed and she prepared to get some strength by eating some eggs. Speaking to the camera again, she said: “Feeling poo, poo but mum made me two boiled eggs in my favourite little pot and some toast. I never eat toast and some black tea. What would I do without my mum? I feel blessed.”
