Strictly Come Dancing fans are worried for Nigel Harman after claiming the former EastEnders star could be the next one to leave.
Nigel said his latest routine could be his undoing after being a early favourite to win this year’s series. Nigel and his partner Katya Jones came into week one with a blistering pasodoble which topped the leaderboard.
Since then however, Nigel has fallen away from the leading pack and has come under criticism from the judges. On Saturday night, the judges found fault with the footwork in his Blackpool Foxtrot, reports Chronicle Live.

Pro partner Katya Jones also looked distinctly unimpressed at the feedback they were given. Nigel was then accused of ‘snapping’ at host Claudia Winkleman as she highlighted the fact he was second bottom during Sunday’s results show.
Moments after the awkward exchange, Claudia then confirmed that Nigel and Katya’s next routine would be to Celine Dion’s It’s All Coming Back to Me Now, as a burst of the famous track filled the air in the Tower Ballroom. However, it was upon learning that the Celine hit would be the soundtrack to a rumba, that fans expressed concerns Nigel’s ballroom days could be numbered.
While he certainly has the acting chops to pull of an emotional routine, the rumba’s track record on Strictly doesn’t bode well for him. The dance genre hasn’t been a good one for many celebs over the years and has already claimed a victim this year, with Adam Thomas losing the dance-off to Angela Rippon, after he performed his for a second time.
Reacting to news of Nigel and Katya doing the rumba on a Strictly Instagram post, one worried follower replied: “They may have given Nigel the hardest dance trying to get him voted out yes Shirley will find something wrong with it she always says something negative about his routine but nobody else’s.” Identifying the rumba ‘curse’ another wrote: “Nigel has a rumba which is notoriously challenging for the male celeb.”
And, also convinced Nigel will be in danger at the weekend, a third fan commented; “Two people I’m concerned about this week now knowing the dances, Nigel and Annabel, the Rumba is well known as the cursed dance, and The paso for Annabel I don’t think it will be the best for her.”
The concerns over Nigel’s future in the competition, comes as some other fans remain confident he’ll win, having worked out that there must be a wealth of public support behind him, given he’s yet to be in the dance-off, despite falling short of his rivals’ scores on a number of occasions so far.
