Strictly Come Dancing fans say they have spotted the reason Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin won’t win the 2023 grand final on Saturday and summed it up with a single word remark.

Strictly spinoff It Takes Two invited guests onto the show to give their verdicts on who will lift the Glitterball trophy this Saturday between Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell and Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin.

Drag star Kitty Scott-Claus was firm in her opinion as she backed Layton and Nikita to win – but fans spotted a problem.

Special guest Kitty Scott-Claus spoke about why she thought Layton was going to win the series. She said: “Oh my gosh, I think from week one, from the off, from the cast announcement I think Layton has been so unashamedly himself.

“From week one we were expecting a show. He’s just done so well every week and Layton is such a perfectionist and I think it comes across.

“He’s here to win.

“Every week it’s like, how is he gonna top what he did last week? And somehow he does.”

Janette Manrara revealed Layton is the only celebrity in the 2023 series to have received all 10s and in fact, he’s twice scored a perfect 40/40.

“Janette I think we’re gonna get three 40s. I think Layton is gonna steal it and I’m so here for it.”

Asked why Layton should win the series, she added: “Layton deserves to win the Glitterball trophy, he is Strictly Come Dancing, he is professional.”

Many viewers like @slinehan1 were keen on Kitty’s comments: “Kitty has done a GREAT job supporting Layton tonight! A great ambassador for team Lakita!”

But others pointed out that Kitty’s comment is exactly why he won’t win – because the Strictly voting public don’t want a trained dancer to lift the trophy.

@ryanglendenning said: “The way Kitty literally said that Layton is a “professional” in her plea for Layton to win. We all know that’s why he may not win.”

@paquitaaguilita added: “”He’s professional” You said it, @kittyscottclaus”.

As many know, Layton has experience dancing on stage shows like Billy Elliot and his dance background has proven controversial with some Strictly fans.

But it will be down to the vote on Saturday. The grand final is on BBC One at 7pm and BBC iPlayer.
