Strictly Come Dancing viewers are fuming tonight after claiming the judges’ comments about Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington ‘confirmed’ that they had ‘fixed’ the series to get Angela to Blackpool.
Angela Rippon, 79, used to present Strictly’s predecessor, Come Dancing, from Blackpool and the judges saved Angela from the dance-off for the last two weeks running, including against Krishnan Guru-Murthy last week.
Tonight, after Angela and Kai danced an American Smooth in the Blackpool ballroom, the judges pointed out some mistakes in Angela’s routine – along with some comments that some BBC viewers said was evidence that they pushed for Angela to get to Blackpool for her ‘full circle’ moment.

Craig Revel-Horwood said: “It could have been danced smoother if I’m honest. I thought the transitions were a little bit clunky on occasion, you lost your posture each time you went into hold again, there was a little sort of fumble down in the breakout section
Kai interrupted: “Solo. She took a solo,” before Craig replied instantly ‘and went the wrong way’.
Before that, Anton Du Beke said: “I love this, I almost didn’t really care how it went, because I loved it so much, the frocks, the suits, the extra dancers, the ambience, it was just perfect for tonight and I’m delighted you got to do it.”

Angela ended up with a 6/7/7/8 for a total of 28 out of 40.
