Strictly Come Dancing viewers spotted a problem with Angela Rippon for Saturday night’s spectacular opening group dance in Blackpool.
Strictly returned to its spiritual home tonight with the annual Blackpool special, back at the same tower ballroom where the BBC’s Strictly predecessor Come Dancing used to be filmed – with Angela Rippon as the host.
Strictly professionals opened the show tonight with a special group number led by Luba Mushtuk, before Johannes Radebe stole the show, donning the same green sparkly dress and heels with a drag act dance that viewers absolutely loved.

But Angela Rippon, 79, had a problem that was ‘shown up’ in the opening number, said BBC viewers.

Viewers felt that the speed and pace of the lively group opener, which also involved all the celebrities still left in the series as well as the judges, was too much for Angela and showed she’s weaker than the other dancers.

Last week, some viewers felt that Angela was shown favouritism by the judges when they saved her and sent Krishnan Guru-Murthy home.
But otherwise, Strictly viewers loved the opener.

But viewers loved the opening group number and said it was ‘spectacular’. They especially backed Johannes who they said stole the show in drag, as he donned the same sparkly green dress that Luba Mushtuk was wearing.
