Strictly Come Dancing’s Annabel Croft opened up on her recent emotional performance as professional partner Johannes said he was “extremely proud”.
During Saturday night’s episode of the BBC hit competition Annabel left viewers in tears as she paid tribute to her late husband Mel and also received her highest score of the series so far.
Following her performance the former tennis player made an appearance on Strictly spin off It Takes Two alongside Johannes and presenter Janette Manrara.

Janette asked Annabel how performing the dance was for her. She responded: “It was very emotional. I didn’t realise how much the significance would resonate with so many people.

“I’ve been overwhelmed with responses. When we were dancing, it was an out of body experience. I was transported to a different place. I couldn’t imagine doing it with anyone else.
“He (Johannes) understands grief as well but it was something extraordinary. It was an incredible moment. It touched people in a way I never anticipated.”
Johannes went on to add: “I’m extremely proud, I don’t know how you did it. I applaud the woman that she is. Every single day you’ve just showed up to this journey with a smile on your face, regardless of what it is that you’re going through. So, thank you.”
