Rebel Wilson was born in Australia, but she eventually moved to the United States, where she became one of the most famous actresses in Hollywood. However, she left her mother, Sue Bownds, in the land down under.

While living in a foreign country, Rebel Wilson established a solid reputation for herself in the entertainment industry. She is now a successful multi-hyphenate, working in the show business as an actress, comedian, writer, singer, and producer.

She has appeared in several films, including “Bridesmaids,” “The Hustle,” and “Senior Year.” She rose to fame as Fat Amy, a member of the Acappella group Barden Bellas, in the hit film “Pitch Perfect.”

Sue Bownds Worked Multiple Jobs to Raise Rebel

Wilson’s mom put in long hours to raise her children. Bownds worked as a professional dog handler and sold canine products, traveling around the world in a caravan.

Not only did Bownds provide outstanding care for dogs, but she also worked as an educator up until the time she retired. Wilson congratulated her mom on social media because she was proud of what she had done.

In addition to the heartwarming message she had written, Wilson shared several photos of the lovely jewelry for Bownds as a gift for her years of hard work.

While Wilson is making great strides in Hollywood, Bownds stays in Australia. Despite living far away from her mother, the Australian comedian makes her mother feel every ounce of her love.

Bownds recently received a sweet Mother’s Day greeting from her daughter on Instagram. The message included a photo of Sue glowing in a pink suit as she smiles on stage along with a couple of awardees. Sue’s post read:

“Thanks Rebel for the mention on your Instagram. Love it that you use the picture of me presenting the ribbons to the Wood Chop winners at Sydney Royal. We had a great day but missed you and Anna.”

Bownds’ other daughter and the Hollywood star’s sister, Annachi, is now based in the United States. The proud mom had shown nothing but support for her daughters’ independent careers.

The proud mom remains Wilson’s biggest fan. She recently started Pooch Perfect, an Australian dog grooming TV show where her daughter is the show host, alongside the adorable dog, Russell.

Given Bownds’ and her children’s busy lives, the family was able to bond through a trip to the island of Tahiti. The proud mom shared on Instagram in September 2021 their stunning photoshoot at the French Polynesian island.

Bownds wrote in her post that the beautiful pictures they took were part of an upcoming documentary. She had yet to reveal what the project was.

Bownds appears to take great pleasure in taking photos of her family. Wilson revealed to TV host Ellen DeGeneres in a 2013 interview that she proudly called her mother “mamarazzi,” as her skills were “worse” than the paparazzi.

Wilson said that even while she was on the red carpet, Bownds would take photos of her from the paparazzi section. Her mother, she claimed, would send her pictures of herself in embarrassing poses via email.

Sue Bownds Gets Spoiled by Her Loving Daughter

Sue Bownds is having a wonderful time since she retired from teaching, and Wilson is also having a wonderful time showering her mother with beautiful things and wonderful memories.

Wilson celebrated Bownds’ birthday in 2020 by taking her and their family on a cruise around Sydney Harbor. Bownds received a beautiful cake decorated with pink roses and prepared by her beloved daughter.

Wilson shared several photos from Bownds’ special day, one of which showed the stunning actress beaming while standing next to her mother. The two bore a striking resemblance to one another.

Bownds is pleased with Wilson’s achievements in Hollywood, but she has recently voiced concern about the repercussions of being related to a celebrity.

Wilson’s family allegedly had their social media posers. Bownds recently informed her Instagram followers that there were allegedly Instagram pages that copied her identity.

She warned the users that any messages they received from accounts claiming to be from her were fake. She stated that she had already reported the fake accounts and encouraged fans to do the same.
