T.J. Holmes Has Been Married Twice: What We Know About His First and Second Wives Amid Alleged Affair With Colleague

TV anchor T.J. Holmes has recently been in the news in controversial circumstances. The still-married journalist is allegedly in an affair with his “Good Morning America” co-host Amy Robach, who is also married. The pair was spotted holding hands and displaying affection.

What makes this story controversial is not necessarily that the co-hosts may be dating since ABC does not explicitly ban workplace relationships. The controversy mainly stems from both anchors being married. Interestingly, Holmes usually talks about his family in high regard whenever he is not discussing the news.

Holmes’ love life has been quite a rollercoaster. He is currently in his second marriage, and unfortunately, this is not the first time he has been reported to be involved with someone from his place of work. The affair has proven to be more damaging this time as he has recently been taken off-screen.

T.J. Holmes’ First Marriage with Amy Ferson

Holmes’ first wife is named Amy Ferson. The exact dates of when their relationship started or when they got married are currently not available to the public. However, what is known is that they divorced in 2007. By then, they had had two children together, a son named Jaiden and a daughter named Brianna.

Although not a household name in journalism, Ferson has worked in the same industry as Holmes. She was employed by one of the most prominent organizations in the industry, American Cable News Network (CNN), where Holmes also previously worked; hence, they might have been co-workers at some point.

Holmes’ feelings for his wife may have eroded over time, though.

T.J. Holmes and His Second Wife are still Married

Three years after legally ending his marriage to Ferson, Holmes married lawyer Marilee Fiebig. They tied the knot in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 1, 2010. Much more information is available about this union as Holmes has been vocal about it and has expressed delight over his wife and children on many occasions.

The couple welcomed a daughter named Sabine, born in January 2013. In interviews, he would praise Fiebig and their relationship, saying that his commitment to her differed from his previous commitments. For instance, the journalist raved about his wife in 2014. He said:

“My pastor always reminds me: You should get around people who make you say to yourself, ‘I gotta do better.’ I married the person who makes me say that to myself every day. I want her to be proud of me. Her presence is constant motivation.”

T.J. Holmes Gave His Wife Many Reasons to Leave

Holmes’ feelings for his wife may have eroded over time, though. Two years before his alleged romance with Robach was exposed, he even admitted that he had given Fiebig enough reasons, chances, and excuses to bail out on their marriage.

During that time, Holmes is alleged to have had an affair with GMA producer Natasha Singh for three years starting in 2016.

Robach, who coincidentally also married her husband, Andrew Shue, in 2010, also reportedly wanted to end her marriage with her husband. The two GMA hosts allegedly separated from their partners in August, perhaps in anticipation of the affair becoming publicly known in the near future.

T.J. Holmes’ Career and His Other Alleged Affair With a Co-worker

Loutelious ‘T.J.’ Holmes Jr. was born in West Memphis, Arkansas, on August 19, 1977. He trained as a journalist at the University of Arkansas, graduating with a degree in broadcast journalism. His professional career began in Missouri, where he held multiple roles at KSNF, including reporter, anchor, and producer.

He later joined KHTV back in his hometown as a reporter and weekend anchor. Despite covering major stories at KHTV, such as the 2004 summer Olympics, he only rose to national prominence after joining CNN. He worked there for five years before joining other broadcasting networks such as BET and MSNBC.

Holmes joined his current employers in 2014, albeit temporarily at first. However, within months, he became a permanent employee. During that time, Holmes is alleged to have had an affair with GMA producer Natasha Singh for three years starting in 2016. That affair is said to have brought about the end of Singh’s marriage.

Longtime Alleged Hidden Affair Becomes Known

Holmes and Robach have supposedly been seeing each other for almost nine months. A source told PageSix that the extra-marital affair between the two started in March 2022. Holmes and Robach had been training together for the New York City Half Marathon.

Although the purportedly cheating pair have been together for so long, they essentially tried to keep their relationship a secret but were unsuccessful. There have been a few instances where they have been spotted, with one source claiming that they were also seen cuddling in some bars close to their workplace in May.

The ABC anchors were also seen displaying public affection in various locations, per photos published by the Daily Mail. Their alleged love affair finally caught the public’s attention when Holmes was photographed touching Robach’s backside inappropriately while on a romantic getaway.

The rumored affair might be more serious than that, as both television personalities have reportedly already separated from their spouses. The story seems to be just in its prologue, with potential divorce proceedings to follow before they can move from an affair to a legitimate couple.
