'The Car You’ve Just Wiped Is Yours!' Poor Janitor Hears From Son He Didn't See for 8 Years

Steve was a cleaner at a car dealership and a single parent to his son, Adam. After Adam left his father to pursue his dreams, Steve felt his job was all he had. However, his son would later return with more than Steve could have ever dreamed of.

Steve worked as a cleaner for a luxury car dealership for the last 12 years of his job. Steve loved and appreciated his job. He was passionate about cars, so every day at work with luxury cars was a genuine pleasure.

He was a single father to his son, Adam. While his job didn’t pay much, it helped him raise his son and send him to school. After Adam graduated from college, Steve tried to get him a job at the dealership.

Steve had even persuaded his boss to give Adam a sales manager position at the dealership. Adam was grateful for his father’s efforts, but his heart was not truly in the job. He had ambitions of his own, hoping to one day open a business.

“I really hope you understand, dad. I’m grateful for this opportunity. I really am. But this is not for me. I need to be my own man and carve out my own path,” Adam earnestly explained to a downhearted Steve.

“After all that I’ve gone through to get you this job, Adam,” Steve said, taking a moment to gather his thoughts. Then he asked, “You sure this is what you want? Starting a business is no easy feat, and this is a really good job,” Steve added.

“I know, dad. And I’m grateful for all your efforts. Not just the job but everything. I know you’ve worked tirelessly to provide me every opportunity. And I know what I’m trying to do won’t be easy. But God will make a way, and your lessons will carry me through,” Adam said warmly.

“I can’t say I’m happy about this. But I respect your decision, son,” Steve concluded, embracing his son.

It had been 8 years since Adam left to pursue his dream. Steve and his son spoke over the phone whenever they got the chance, and Steve missed him dearly.

After Adam left, Steve felt incredibly lonely. A part of him resented Steve for leaving him. It had just been the two of them for the longest time, and then, suddenly, all that changed.

As time passed, Steve found more and more comfort in his work. Every day he would clean at the car dealership, but his greatest joy was washing the cars.

One day, while Steve was wiping the cars, he noticed that his favorite car of all time, a classic Bentley, was finally in the store showroom. Steve had heard from his boss that they had ordered it a while back, and Steve had dearly longed to have his moment with it.

“The car you just wiped is yours,” said the voice. Steve recognized the voice instantly; it was Adam. “Steve, are you going crazy? I think you’ve been taking this dreaming thing a bit too far,” Steve thought to himself.

As he looked in the rear-view mirror, he saw Adam standing there, looking as radiant as ever. Steve’s heart jumped with joy as he hopped out of the car, rushing to embrace his son.

“I’ve missed you too, dad. So, are you going to take it for a spin?” Adam asked.

“Ha-ha-ha! Very funny, you came here with jokes. What is this? A prank? These clowns put you up to this?” Steve said, chuckling as he gestured towards his colleagues who so often mocked him.

“It’s not a prank, dad. I bought you that car. It’s yours,” Adam said, handing Steve the keys. Adam was in complete disbelief and couldn’t hold his tears back as he hugged his son.

“But how?” a bewildered Steve asked.

“My business did pretty well over the years, and I saved most of what I was making so one day I could get you this,” Adam said.

“Wow! God really did make a way,” Steve said, still trying to wrap his around what he was seeing and hearing.

“Yes, He did. And your lessons kept me going. Thank you, dad,” Adam said earnestly.

“No, I should be apologizing. I should have believed in you more,” Steve said, disheartened.

“You let me go! You didn’t stop me from pursuing my dreams! And that’s the main thing! You gave me freedom, and I’m grateful to you for that. This is my way of thanking you. All these 8 years, I spent almost no money on myself. I dreamed of giving you the car of your dreams, dad!” said Adam.

Steve was utterly moved by both his son’s actions and words. All these years, Adam never mentioned what he was working on behind the scenes, and now Steve was reaping the fruits of his efforts. That summer, Steve’s dream came true, and he went on a road trip with his beloved son in his new Bentley.
