‘The Cosby Show’s Keshia Knight Pulliam Welcomes Long-Awaited 1st Baby with Husband: Details

Keshia Knight Pulliam, child star of “The Cosby Show,” recently showed off her baby belly in a surprise pregnancy announcement. Besides this second child, the actress also shares a kid with her previous husband.

Pulliam, who portrayed the role of Rudy Huxtable, was previously married to Edgerton “Ed” Hartwell, and the pair shared a daughter named Ella Grace Hartwell. Although Pulliam and her ex-husband are separated, they work together to co-parent their daughter.

The actress announced her pregnancy on December 1 through an Instagram Boomerang. The video showed the actress with her baby bump and her second husband, Brad James. The couple looked excited as they posed together.

Pulliam had previously suffered a miscarriage, and being unable to have her eggs frozen was a big blow.

On April 10, 2023, Pulliam announced her baby has finally arrived. The actress shared a video on Instagram showing her lying in a hospital bed smiling excitedly. While Pulliam reclined in anticipation of what was to come, James was by her side, joking around decked out in scrubs. Pulliam captioned the post:

“With this little one we are complete… Happy Birthday to me!!! What an eventful birthday week…”

The video ended with a snapshot of the new mom and dad and Pulliam’s 6-year-old daughter from her previous marriage, Ella Hartwell. The little family looked ecstatic as they crowded around their newest member, the little one warmly wrapped up in a blanket and snuggling in mom’s arms. Congratulations, Pulliam!

How Did the Actress Become a Mom for the Second Time?

Pulliam is understandably overjoyed to be pregnant again, since she has had trouble during previous pregnancies. Before she met James, the actress wanted another child, but at the age of 41, she didn’t want to wait too long. So, she decided to freeze some of her eggs.

They celebrated their big day with a small and personal ceremony, sharing snapshots of their wedding on their social media accounts.

Pulliam had previously suffered a miscarriage, she suffered another big blow when the lockdown prevented her from having her eggs frozen. Luckily, she met James in 2019, and the pair married in 2021. Shortly after, Keshia fell pregnant. Pulliam shared what her daughter said about the new sibling:

“‘Mommy, is the baby going to stay with us this time? Is it going to stay?'”

Pulliam, James, and even little Hartwell are incredibly relieved that the pregnancy seems to be going well. Considering the actress’s past failed pregnancy, the family had some initial worries, but they were glad to let fans know what’s lying ahead.

What Was the Couple’s Wedding Like?

In 2019, Pulliam and James met while working on the film “Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta.” They quickly became friends and got to know each other better in 2020. Eventually, they tied the knot in 2021, and the couple couldn’t be happier.

James posted photos of the entire event, and his bride looked breathtaking in a snow-white wedding dress. Judging from the many happy images, the celebrations seem to have lasted well into the night, and featured dancing and laughter aplenty.

Although the wedding was luxurious, they kept it small and personal. Along with the snapshots, James posted a loving homage to his wife to mark the occasion. The actor praised his new wife in his message and thanked her for everything she meant to him.

He mentioned a few inside jokes in his loving caption and extolled Pulliam for being the partner he has been looking for. He finished the message off by promising to protect and love her no matter what lay ahead.

James enjoys being a stepfather to Pulliam‘s daughter while he waits for his own child to arrive. His wife’s excitement was almost tangible as she announced her pregnancy with a caption that revealed the new baby would join the family in 2023.
