The Crown star Dominic West has said Prince Harry cut ties with him after he ‘said too much’ in an interview.

The 54-year-old plays King Charles III in the hit Netflix show and he has now revealed he once had a real-life connection to the Royal Family. Dominic said he and Prince Harry grew close as they both took part in a charity event Walking With The Wounded in 2013, which saw the pair journey through Antarctica with injured military veterans.

But an accidental slip-up in an interview put an end to their blossoming friendship, he says.

During a chat on “Sunday Morning” on Times Radio, Dominic confessed: “We sort of [lost touch because] I said too much in a press conference, and so, we didn’t speak after that.”

The Mirror reports that when pressed for more by host McCann, Dominic said he was asked “what we did to celebrate when we got there” and that he “probably said too much” in response.

A year after the pair set off on the expedition together they reconvened for a press conference in January 2014 to recount their experience. At the time, the former Les Misérables star was thrilled to speak on his experience with Prince Harry and gushed over the important role the former Royal took on as part of the team.

“[Harry] was very much part of the team,” Dominic said at the time.
