With Super Bowl LVII right around the corner, Budweiser released its new commercial, “Six Degrees of Budweiser,” on January 31. which features actor Kevin Bacon as the narrator, per People. Throughout the ad, different people from various communities are shown passing a six-pack of the aforementioned beer. “Who drinks Budweiser? You know the type — the people who grind, those who don’t back down, and those who don’t quit,” Bacon says in a voiceover. Toward the end of the commercial, Budweiser partner and acclaimed music producer Metro Boomin appears as one of the six individuals to take the titular beverage. “They say all people are six degrees of separation from each other, but some are just a six-pack away,” Bacon adds before the beer is offered to the viewer.
In an interview with Billboard, Metro opened up about the commercial and revealed that the collaboration was “a golden opportunity” to highlight his hometown of St. Louis. “Budweiser being in St. Louis and me being born and raised in St. Louis and always representing and speaking out for [the city], I saw as a golden opportunity.” He went on to explain to the publication that the iconic beer has been a staple in his life due to his family and friends buying it and visiting the Anheuser-Busch Factory as a kid. “That just goes to show you how big of an impact Budweiser has had on the whole city,” he added.
