While promoting the 2018 “American Idol” finals, Katy Perry shared her thoughts on Markle, Duchess of Sussex’s dress and they weren’t exactly complimentary, per Entertainment Tonight. “I would have done one more fitting,” Perry boldly asserted. “Kate, Kate, Kate won, Kate won! I’m sorry, I’m never not going to tell the truth! One more fitting, but I love you.” Even though Perry wasn’t the biggest fan of Markle’s dress, she did have some really sweet things to say about her and Prince Harry earlier in the interview stating that she was “happy for them,” adding that she supports Markle as “another woman,” and loves and wishes she and Prince Harry well.
Apparently, Perry’s comments didn’t quite land on Markle as constructive criticism. According to Express, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry live in the same Montecito, California neighborhood as Katy Perry and partner Orlando Bloom. Per the report, Bloom sympathizes with the couple, who stepped down from official royal duties, and has reached out to report “anything suspicious” in their neighborhood. However, the report states that things aren’t quite so chipper between Markle and Perry. “Meghan is keenly aware of a comment that Katy Perry made in 2018 about her wedding dress and is notorious for holding a grudge,” shared a source. They added that Perry’s comment came when “Meghan felt under siege at that time and was overwhelmed by arguments with staff, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Thomas Markle.”
