Ayesha Curry and Steph Curry found out they were expecting a few months after tying the knot. At the time, Ayesha was trying to get the ball rolling on her acting career, but she switched gears once she got pregnant with Riley Curry. As Ayesha told Parents (via Parade), “She was a borderline honeymoon baby. So that became my next move. I struggled with that for a while.” Though she didn’t expect to become a parent until later down the road, she embraced motherhood and became a successful food blogger. And, as we all know, that food blog turned into a culinary empire. Suffice to say, things worked out.

Riley seems to have a penchant for fast and furious arrivals; her dad nearly missed her entrance into the world because she arrived so swiftly. “Riley came so fast that I almost didn’t have time to get my scrubs on,” the basketball great revealed to Graham Bensinger. Her birth changed her parents’ lives and their outlooks. As Steph told Besinger, “It puts everything into perspective. I’ve don’t ever have a bad day knowing you’re gonna go home, have a wife and daughter, you know, to enjoy life with.” Being a megafamous NBA star is something most of us can only dream about, but that’s not to say it’s an easy gig — and Steph’s family has been a source of comfort and support through the highs and lows. “When you have a bad game or you lose, it used to be my world,” he said. Now, his wife and kids are his world.
