Tim Roth Met His Wife Nikki Butler at a Film Festival Thought She Was Out of His League

Nikki Butler has walked the red carpet with her Hollywood actor husband, Tim Roth, ever since they met in 1992, but very little is known about the enigmatic blonde. They’ll celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2023.

Tim Roth met Nikki Butler while promoting “Reservoir Dogs,” the film that made him a star. She was unfamiliar with his work but became very familiar with him over the next few months, and they eloped within a year.

The couple lost their youngest son Cormac to cancer in October 2022. He was a musician and up-and-coming composer.

Nikki Butler Is a Very Private Person

Butler has cultivated a private persona while supporting her high-profile partner at his industry events. The tall blonde is not afraid to wear heels when posing next to her 5′ 8″ husband, sometimes standing a head taller than him. She was born between 1978 and 1979.

He lost half his hearing and 60 pounds but said he would keep fighting.

She has been called a fashion designer in the press and, more recently, a stylist. The Roth family seems to have a social media policy, as they rarely post about each other. Their ginger cat gets the most love on Tim’s Instagram account.

Tim Roth Met His Wife at the Sundance Film Festival

Butler met Tim at the 1992 Sundance Film Festival, where he was promoting his movie with Quinton Tarantino, “Reservoir Dogs,” and later told The Guardian that he thought she was “way out of his league.” The fact that she had not seen any of his films endeared her to him.

By the time the Hollywood premiere of the movie came in October 1992, she was on his arm as his date. The couple married a year later while he was shooting “Heart of Darkness” in the jungle of Belize. The usually media-shy actor told their elopement story to a newspaper:

“I went and got a tattoo of her initials on my arm, and then I went and had a beer with my mate, and went, ‘Right then, we’re off, and I got back and did the deed. It’s a private story, but she thought I was going to break up with her. It was a good one.”

Tim Had a Son with Another Woman before Meeting Nikki Butler

The British actor dated make-up artist and costume designer Lori Baker in the early 1980s, per IMDb. Their son, Jack Ernest Roth, was born on September 1, 1984, in Lewisham, London, when the actor was 23.

Jack is an actor and musician. The senior Roth told a UK newspaper that his son was the only thing he missed about his home country, but he did see him often.

The actor has roles in “Bedlam,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and an uncredited part in “Game of Thrones.” He dated actress Emma Appleton who portrayed Renfri in “The Witcher.”

Nikki Butler and Tim Roth Had Two Sons

In July 2022, Cormac Roth shared with his Instagram following that he had stage three germ cell cancer and had been through multiple chemo treatments and surgeries. He lost half his hearing and 60 pounds but said he would keep fighting:

“But it hasn’t taken away my will to survive, or my love of making music. It hasn’t taken me down yet. […] Love to you all please make sure to do the things that you love. Life is short. It is chaos. And you never know when it’s going to be you (sic).”

Cormac was born in 1996 and passed away surrounded by family on October 16, 2022. He was a musician, producer, and composer. His debut EP, “Python,” was released in 2018. The composer produced the music for the 2020 dystopian thriller, “New Order,” by Michel Franco.

Timothy Hunter Roth, born in 1995, keeps a low profile and was last photographed at an industry event on September 26, 2009, with his father at a Q&A panel at the Apple Store in Santa Monica.
