Tim Roth’s Son Gave Short Speech about Life before His Death: ‘You Don’t Always Get To Choose Your Future’

“Last King of the Cross” star Tim Roth is mourning the death of his 25-year-old son Cormac Roth, who passed away on October 16 following a short battle with stage 3 germ cell cancer.

Those who knew Cormac remember him as the embodiment of kindness and a gentle soul who exuded happiness and hope to those around him.

Like his father, Cormac was a man of many talents. He was a producer, a composer, and a talented guitarist. He was also a graduate of Bennington College.

What Did Cormac Roth Say in His Last Video?

Cormac was first diagnosed with cancer in November 2021, and since then, he has been reaching out to his fans with emotional messages, urging them never to let go of their dreams.

In a poignant video posted on his Instagram on August 7, Cormac asked his fans always to remember that life was short. He shared that it blew him away how talented his fans were, as he could tell whenever he scrolled through their profiles. He added:

“What you guys make is incredible, and just sink your teeth in and remember that life is short.”

He urged his fans to be an undeniable force in pursuing whatever made them happy, despite not getting to choose their future. He encouraged them to never compromise on their happiness. “That’s all I got, and I love you. I’ll see you.” He concluded the video.

Since his family announced the heartbreaking news of his demise, fans have returned to the post in large numbers, paying tribute to his family for the loss and remembering Cormac for the kind and talented person he was.

Others thanked him for the beautiful message he had left his fans, noting that it would go a long way in encouraging someone to pursue their dreams.

What Were the Effects of the Cancer On Cormac?

Following his diagnosis, Cormac started sharing updates on his health and often let his fans in on what was happening healthwise.

On July 14, he posted an update on his Instagram, noting that the illness had taken away half of his hearing and he had lost 60 pounds.

He shared that the rare cancer, also known as choriocarcinoma, had also taken away his confidence. However, despite the grueling chemotherapy sessions and medications he had to take, the illness had not stolen his love for making music.

He then urged anyone who has cancer or who knows someone with the illness to reach out to him so they could share their journey because it was “an emotional rollercoaster unlike anything else.”

Fans will continue celebrating a well-lived life and remember Cormac through his music. His family continues to mourn the loss of the young man they all knew as “irrepressible and joyful and wild and wonderful.”
