The family of David ‘Didi’ Horsfield who died suddenly at home have launched a GoFundMe page to raise funds for his send off.
David Horsfield, known as Didi to those who loved him, suddenly died at home at the age of just 25, leaving his beloved family heartbroken. The family are searching for answers as to why the 25-year-old suddenly died on Monday, January 22.
Didi’s step mum Cheli Morton, from Todmorden, has spoken of the family’s heartbreak following the tragic and unexpected death, Cheli, said: “My children [aged 10 and 13] are his siblings. There are no words for how upset we all are, Didi was just 25 years old, it was so sudden and unexpected, we have no idea what has happened. His dad, my ex-husband, found him at home and we won’t know what happened for another two weeks.

“He has always been so close to us because of my children – they are his siblings. I broke the news to them yesterday and it was the most horrific thing I have had to do in my life.
“Didi was the most amazing young man you would ever meet, he was so attentive with his siblings and its such a massive loss at the age of 25. He saw my two [children] every other weekend – it’s a massive loss.”
Cheli has set up a GoFundMe page to raise donations for Didi’s funeral – she wants to give him the best send off she can. She said: “I’m getting donations to give him the send off he deserves. I was talking about the funeral with his dad yesterday and he said ‘we will have to do what we can afford’ and I don’t want that for him, I want to be able to give him what deserves.”
David lived at home with his dad, also named David, who is a member of the British Army. Cheli added: “His dad is in the army and has served in Afghan so he has does so much for people and now he really does need the support at this time.”
