Although much is known about the legendary rapper’s professional life, he had a great relationship with his family and kept his personal life out of the limelight. So what is Tupac’s family like, and who are some of his siblings? Here’s what we know.

Mopreme Shakur

Mopreme Shakur is one of Tupac Shakur’s siblings, and the two were pretty close. Even though Mopreme is Tupac’s stepbrother, he also made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. Some projects he’s worked on include the 2015 film “Lucky Girl” and the 2014 short comedy film “FUG Sweater.”

Mopreme is also a talented rapper; back then, he used to go by Wycked and Konami. He performed alongside Tupac, and the two had done a few collaborations. Mopreme was featured on Tupac’s single “Papaz Song” from his 1993 album.

He was also a member of Tupac’s group THUG LIFE Outlaw Immortal. Mopreme is an entrepreneur who focuses on writing, composing, and production. Mopreme also has a massive following on Instagram, where he shares glimpses of both his professional and personal life with followers.

Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur

Sekyiwa, also known as “Set,” is Tupac’s younger half-sister; the two share one mother, Afeni Shakur but a different father. Sekyiwa was born in 1973, two years after Tupac’s birth. According to reports, the two siblings were very close and referred to each other as best friends.

Because of their strong bond, Tupac mentioned his half-sister, who goes by “Set,” in some of his songs. Even though her brother was a hip-hop legend recognized globally, Sekyiwa likes her privacy and prefers to keep a low profile.

In an interview, Sekyiwa disclosed that she used to hide her surname because she didn’t want people to recognize who she was. Sekyiwa stated that she concealed her identity after seeing how fame had affected her brother’s private life.

Sekyiwa, who grew up with Tupac in Harlem, New York, stated that she still has some of her brother’s memorabilia which helps her hold on to his memory. She said she plans to hand over her brother’s items to one of her children.

The two were inseparable and based on reports, Kadafi visited Tupac daily when he was in prison in 1995. The duo had even planned on working on a significant project after Tupac was released from jail.

Even though it’s been 26 years since her brother’s demise, Sekyiwa remains private about her life with Tupac. According to Sekyiwa’s Instagram page, which has over 23k followers, she is the president and CEO of Tupac Amaru Shakur foundation.

Takerra Allen

Takerra Allen is also one of Tupac Shakur’s siblings; the two share the same father, Billy Garland. Based on her Instagram page, Tupac’s half-sister Allen is an author and has written over 17 novels. She was also part of the production team of the 2019 drama film “Heaven’s Hell.”

Allen was born in 1984 and is 13 years younger than Tupac. Even though the two never met in person, Allen developed a strong bond with him after they exchanged a few letters. Before Tupac’s death, Allen had a chance to speak with him when he was detained in 1995.

Allen, who holds a special place in her heart for her brother, described in an interview what it’s always like on Tupac’s death anniversary. Allen said she gets bittersweet feelings whenever she surfs the internet or listens to the radio and sees people celebrating her brother’s legacy.

Sometimes, she feels sad, knowing her beloved brother is gone and never coming back. What pains Allen most is that their family never got real justice for what happened to him, but she is glad that people still remember and celebrate him.

Yaki Kadafi

Yafeu Akiyele Fula, also known by his stage name Yaki Kadafi, was also a rapper. According to reports, Kadafi and Tupac Shakur had developed a strong bond growing up. Tupac’s mother, Afeni, and Kadafi’s parents were Black Panther Party members.

Afeni reportedly became close friends with Kadafi’s parents, Sekou Odinga and Yaasmyn Fula, after they lived together for some time. Through that, Kadafi and Tupac ended up forming a close friendship. Over the years, the duo strongly bonded and started calling each other godbrothers.

The two were inseparable and based on reports, Kadafi visited Tupac daily when he was in prison in 1995. The duo had even planned on working on a significant project after Tupac was released from jail. Unfortunately, they never fulfilled their dream, as the two were in the car in Las Vegas when Tupac was assassinated.

Two months after Tupac’s demise, Kadafi was reportedly shot dead as well, and he was discovered in an apartment in New Jersey; he died aged 19. Tupac’s and Kadafi’s bond of love was terrific, and they were reportedly very close until the end.
